NBA 2018-2019

Kyrie’s the smartest athlete in professional sports.

Don't really see much different between what Durant did and how Lebron has won each of his. No one is winning anything on their own. Either figure out how to link up with other elite players or be irrelevant come spring.

So who linked up with GSW when they won championships before Durant arrived ?

Nobody cares but me here, but Gobert not making the All-star game is a traveshamockery.

Especially when KAT gets in. A guy that doesn't win.

Misses out on a $1 million bonus too. Sucks.

So like, Kyrie and Durant are maybe actually coming? It's kind of a thing now I think

I don’t think Anthony Davis and LeBron are enough for the Lakers and if they have to deal 3 young players to get Davis they lose trade bait to get more talent.
If the NBA wants to stop these super teams they either need a franchise tag like the NFL and make the number an insane amount per year like 40-50 million each year and stop with max contracts. They should be max amount of years on deals but no max on the amount of money per year.
If a team wants to pay 4 years 160 million and another team wants to pay 4 years 120 million let the player decide.

The problem with the NBA is the agents have all the power.

Isn't this pretty close to what happened with Davis? He's going to sign for a lot less $ with the Lakers or whoever. Granted the one year difference makes it seem more. But multiple guys have turned down the super max now.

If the Knicks could offer 4 years 200
Million because they have 72 million in cap space and Lakers offered 4 years 140 million maybe he goes East.
By restricting what the max is then the control is where you want to play as money and total money offered doesn’t matter.

I get what youre saying but I don't think it would work out like that in practice. If the Knicks offered Davis all their cap space he wouldn't go there because the rest of the team would suck. Also even if he would take it, i can't imagine many teams want all that money tied up in one player

Guys want to control where they go and who they play with. I don't really see a way to change that.

Money is the way to prevent this more.
The elite talent in basketball are underpaid.
By putting a max it allows for players like Joe Johnson in 2010 become the highest paid player in the league.
Players would take the money.

A hard cap would help. Now the cap would have to be an amount that isn’t cheap as owners shouldn’t get off easy but if there is a hard cap then the elite players would go for money or they would be leaving a lot more on the table than they have too with these artificial max dollars.

Agree to disagree, I just think you overstate this. Even with no max salary I don't think you would see guys get offered a lot more than they do now because it would make team building very difficult and just because they could also doesn't mean they would spend all their cap space on one guy.

If the knicks go after Tobias Harris will the use a rock to recruit him?

KD and Kyrie to NYK. AD to the Lakers. Kawhi to the Clips. Klay... Boogie... Butler...

Don’t want to get traded by a franchise and city you care deeply about? Don’t demand they bring the brinks truck when you’re injured and humiliated by lebron.

Still feel as if kyrie and butler go to Brooklyn.

This SportsCenter anchor is a moron.
So because the Celtics could get a better player they are supposed to keep Isiah Thomas and overpay him?

Nobody in the right doesn’t make the trade the Celtics did. I got no problem with AD not wanting to play in Boston but this Isiah chit is just stupid. They traded him for Kyrie not a bag of balls.
His son is screwing New Orleans it’s funny.

That’s fine, but it’s air coverage for players to use it against the Cs.

I am just this SportsCenter anchor doesn’t know chit.
What exactly did Boston do wrong to Isiah Thomas?
They told him to sit when his sister died and he said he wanted to play. They gave him a private plane to fly home.

They didn’t tell him they were giving him X dollars. The opportunity to get a better player came up so he was traded. Now a freaking SportsCenter anchor and not an insider is saying the league players will use against Boston.
If you don’t have a no trade clause then you can be moved. Especially if you can get a better player.

When freaking Anthony Davis is
Saying he wants to get moved for his legacy. What did Boston move IT for?

Woj and Shams saying the Lakers are offering Lonzo, Kuzma, Rondo, Beasley, and a first round pick for Davis lol. No chance that gets it done IMO.

I've been banging the drum on the IT deal basically since it happened, Boston was well within their rights to do what they did, but it just shows that it's just a business and every side, is going to do whats best for them. So I have no problem with Boston doing it, and I have no problem with Davis not wanting to play there because of what they did.

Also, if you're cool with Boston trading IT, like I said, that's fine, but you also never get to complain about a player not showing loyalty to a team if they want to leave. Its a 2 way street is my point

What I find funny...

There’s people saying the Lakers should give up more to make sure they get him. They cite Paul George initially wanting to be a Laker, the Lakers not offering enough, OKC getting him and then him deciding to resign in OKC. They cite Leonard too, and talk about how he’s not coming to the Lakers now.

But the prevailing sentiment with Carmelo is that he would’ve signed with the Knicks no matter what, they were stupid for giving up “so much” for him, and that HE was selfish...for getting traded.

Lol.
