NBA 2018-2019

I had a friend in college that had some sharp shooter training. She used to do competitions and stuff. Anyway, she wore glasses... except for when she competed. She said when she could see the target clearly it threw her off. When the target was blurry, she just naturally aimed for the middle of it and was more accurate that way.

Anyway, if Curry doesn't bring the goggles back into fashion he's completely wasted this.

This is very relevant to my situation. I've had glasses since college (like 2011) that I need when I try to see long distance. Vision isn't that bad (in my opinion), but definitely is challenging seeing things far away (like the board in a classroom, tv at meetings, street names, etc). I've never gotten contacts because didn't think it made sense, I would just wear my glasses if I needed to. Actually, I probably should wear them alot more than I do. I've almost adjusted to the poorer vision. I never wear them playing sports because didn't feel like risking getting them hit. However, there are some days when I definitely feel like I struggle to focus on the hoop, especially if I had been wearing them for the majority of the day beforehand (like at work).

I tell friends this and some are surprised I even have glasses because the only time I see them is like playing bball. I am considering contacts because I think it would be helpful, and I am wondering how it might chance the shooting thing.

I have a similar scenario. Had glasses starting in like 4th grade and just stopped wearing them at the start of high school. Managed to still play baseball in college and wonder if I would've been able to be a better hitter if I had continued to wear glasses or contacts.

Since you wear glasses anyway when you play, you might want to consider getting prescription goggles.

They usually fit better than glasses [since they're designed for sports], and then you wouldn't have to worry about them getting damaged / hit while you're out there playing.

Oh I don’t wear them playing

I started noticing in 11th grade that I had one good eye and one that was blurry.

I remember at my physical exam in my junior year, I cheated on the eye exam. I was peeking with my good eye, lol. Doctor didn’t notice. I didn’t want glasses or contacts. I remember sitting in the bleachers during a JV basketball game realizing I couldn’t read any of the banners on the wall. Then during baseball season, I’d notice the batters were a bit blurry when playing second base. So I finally smartened up and admitted my vision wasn’t that good.

Started off with just one contact for my bad eye. Eventually(maybe 10’years later) the other one needed a contact too.

I’ve never once worn glasses.

Since we're all sharing our story...

2nd grade a teacher recommended I get my eyes checked because I couldn't read the chalk board from my seat. Set me on a lifelong path of wearing glasses.

Around 6th grade I decide to try contacts. The place we went to wouldn't put them in for you, they made you put them in yourself. I had major hangups about touching my eye. Spent hours trying to get them in and couldn't do it.

You know what didn't help? The little area where they had mirrors and stuff to put your contacts in also had posters all over of eyes that got crazy, freaky diseases from people not cleaning their contact lenses.

I have major issues with seeing messed up faces, so those eyeballs did not encourage me. I gave up, went back to glasses, and have never tried contacts since.

As for sports, I just wear my glasses when I play basketball. Football I'd either wear a really cheap pair under my helmet (looked hilarious), or basically played blind.

Yeah, I think Jimmy Butler or Kemba along with an AD trade is the only hope they have whatsoever of mattering next year. They add 2 of those pieces and KD and Kyrie head to NY then the entire league is wide open at that point. Would be kind of fun to see. Would also be just as fun to see them strike out.
i thought it would come down to kemba & vucevich but now i'm going with kemba & dmc

In first grade (1983/84 school year) I had trouble seeing chalk board and sat up front. My teacher told me to tell my Mom to get eyes checked. End of year convo my teacher asks my Mom about my vision problems. Of course I never told my Mom since 7 yr. old me didn't want glasses. My teacher was super old and retired within five yrs. Always thought it was funny my teacher assumed I'd tell my Mom. I'm blind as with scripts of -800 near sighted. Got contacts in 7th grade.

That's a terrible fit, though, right? Ayton and him? Booker isn't giving up his shots. They've needed a PG for so long.

Now, if the Knicks get Zion at #1 and Suns have #2 and take Ja Morant, think it would be a great fit.

Is the nightmare if he ends up on the Wizards?

Obviously Phoenix needs a PG and Ja is a talented one, but my lord that might be the laziest defensive backcourt in the NBA. I’m not really sure who is a good fit with that Suns team tbh.

As for Zion, I don’t think the fit matters that much. You take Zion if the fit ever doesn’t work, you trade the other guys. You simply can’t pass up on Zion.

Kinda curious why you think the Wizards would be the worst case scenario for him? Obviously Wall’s health is a question mark, but I think you could put shooting around a healthy Wall, Beal, and Zion and have something potentially pretty special there. Zion is probably the only thing that can realistically save that situation.

Grain of salt coming from Bucher. But aligns with the rumors.
I think this is a good thing. May help balance the conferences a little.

Really wonder what Kawhi is going to do. That's a big domino to drop.

Seems like everyone thinks he’s headed to the Clippers still

For Space Jam 2
IMO The Monstars should be
Luka Doncic, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Giannis Antetokuempo, and Anthony Davis.

However I expect they will be Klutch Sports clients
Ben Simmons, John Wall, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green and Zion.

Oh they're 100% going to be Klutch people.

Bucks/76ers is a great game coming down to the wire if anyone needs something to watch.

Just watched the last 5 minutes or so. Giannis and Embiid are complete monsters.

Embiid really is amazing; didn't start playing till late (right?) and missed a ton of time early in his NBA career, and the guy was second team all NBA last year and will probably be first team this year.

Embiid started playing at 15; Giannis at 13

watching that game made me realize that even with KD the Knicks are a ways away. It's Giannis league for the next 5 years.
