NBA Summer League Discussion Thread

LMAO you guys bring up Scoop Jardine as your arguments about SU's NBA pedigree, I rest my case.

Summer League Ball------------------->UConn vs SMU, UConn vs Houston, UConn vs UCF:rolling:

SU's current best NBA player Carmelo Anthony. UConn's current best NBA player Rudy Gay:rolleyes: , who mind you was shipped off a team mid-season that made the western conference finals without him hmmmm. You want to brag about pros when only Kemba and Gay are the only legit starters from UConn in the league currently and both play for losing teams. I think any GM in the league would gladly take Melo by himself over the 10 stiffs or so that you guys have in the league. Step your troll game up homeboy because you're looking more silly than Andre Drummond shooting free throws.

Love that interview. hahahahha

You mad O'Reilly????????????

Triche and James both looked good tonight. Triche with 13 and James with 11 including three 3's.

Seemed like Dyson was always shooting the ball all the time, but in reality he only shot 10 times.

Loved seeing Triche being aggressive and getting to the line.

your reaching for straws- as you have been the entire thread- epic fail on your effort to troll- just go watch your kemba title run- your going to want to keep that handy for a very long time

Admins, it's time to escort this fu<king uconn imbecile to the door.

Its funny--during the NCAA tournament, after several prominent posters got into a good natured spat with the uconn-based admins, they suddenly incurred mysterious penalties imposed that disrupted their access / ability to post here.

Meanwhile, some rabble rousing uconn punk with no ties to our board who has no interest in doing anything besides stir the pot is allowed to post with impunity for an entire weekend.

Time to take out the garbage.

What does this even mean, do you honestly think this is funny or that it hurts my feelings haha. Please refer to the last point in my original post about SU fans and comebacks...

Please refer here: http://collegespun.com/big-east/syr...ni-made-the-most-money-in-the-nba-this-year/2
The real shame being that without Carmelo making up almost 70% of SU Alum's entire income, you guys wouldnt even be on the list. UConn almost tied at #1 with Duke with 5 less players!

from your link:

UConn has five players who made over $8 million in 2012-2013 – Rudy Gay, Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva and Caron Butler

from Grantland's annual 'Worst NBA contracts' article:
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9030601/the-worst-contracts-nba
Overpaid Role Players:
Caron Butler (two years, $16 million)

Overpaid But Undeniably Productive Guys:
Emeka Okafor (two years, $28.1 million)

The 30 Least Cap-Appealing Contracts:
25. Rudy Gay: three years, $53.7 million
Nobody wants to accept that he's a horrific shooter — repeat: horrific. Gay is shooting 25 percent on shots from 16 to 23 feet (the worst percentage of anyone who attempted three-plus shots per game from that range) and 23.3 percent from 3 (the worst percentage of anyone who attempted three-plus 3s per game). Toronto wants to lock up Gay TO AN EXTENSION this summer???? Why not use these last six weeks to make sure he's still competent offensively before broaching that strategy publicly? What's wrong with these teams?
15. Charlie Villaneuva: two years, $16.6 million
14. Ben Gordon: two years, $25.6 million This section is sponsored by Joe Dumars Cap Space Cologne! That's right, if you want to smell like someone just tipped you over inside a Porta Potty, try Joe Dumars Cap Space Cologne — you only have to spray it once, and then you can't get away from the smell for three to five years! One thing we've definitely learned: You don't want to give Dumars cap space. And he has it this summer. So look out, Pistons fans.
Last note: Villanueva has a player option for next season for $8.5 million. When asked if he was picking it up, Villanueva responded, "It's obvious what I'm going to do. Would you let that money go?" Hey, high school seniors — it's not too late to make that your yearbook quote.

So, basically, you have concluded that UConn has better pros than 'Cuse because they get paid more, but EVERY SINGLE UConn player making a lot of money in the NBA has a horrible contract. It's no coincidence that all 5 of them play for terrible teams (Pistons, Raptors, Wizards, Suns)

Triche - 3/5, 1/2 threes, 13 points in 18 minutes, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 5 Tos

Suns box score. AO-14 minutes, 10pts, 4rbs, 1blk. AO was a beast at times in the 1st half basically scoring at will whenever he had good position inside. He got exposed a little bit defensively when dragged out on the perimeter trying to defend screen n rolls that cut his 2nd half short.

Bobcats/Warriors. Triche-18 minutes, 13pts, 5rbs, 1ast, 5to, 6-8FT. Southerland-16 minutes, 11pts, 5rbs, 3-3 3PT. Like others mentioned above, Triche was very aggressive taking the ball to the rack getting fouled and going to the line. He also hit a few contested jumpers as well. Southerland made the most out of his touches by knocking down three open 3's that were all nothing but net.

Great stuff, thanks OE!
I hope you're feeling better, my friend.
Thanks, just found out that the radiologist was wrong about not having any broken bones. Today I got the results of the MRI, it's a broken collar bone, torn labrum & torn rotator cuff.

Rotator cuffs suck when injured. Nothing you can do except a little physical therapy. I tore mine mine a bit a year ago. Time and time alone will make it gradually better.

Very sorry to hear that. I hope you're getting rest and healing day by day.

That's not entirely accurate...depending on the size, location, and acuity of the tear.

Not true. You can have surgery to repair it.

You'll see AO grab his one & only rebound, no James

Highlights of championship game
Both had some good moments in the 1st half. James had a few nice finishes inside and knocked down a three. AO was just abusing McGhee aka Predator from Pitt inside, schooling him in the post with some nifty left hand finishes. Unfortunately neither got many touches in the 2nd half.

Wherever he goes, James will always be the team clown

stay gold, pony boy
James gonna have tough competition from Kent Bazemore and Patty Mills as the bench celebration gurus. I have to admit, I always get a kick out of Mills and his different towel waving techniques on the bench for the Spurs lol.

Of course you are right about surgery, but I was told something like six weeks of having a completely immobile right arm before rehab stuff. Most people just do pt, but my statement was obviously wrong.
