NBA Summer League Discussion Thread

Donte is 0-4 from the field but isn't playing terrible if you ask me. Andy is 1-2 for three points with a couple of boards. He has looked a tab bit slow on the defensive side of the ball though.

You can tell he knows nothing about these players and is just rambling off nonsense. Dunno how he still has a job on TV.
 
Donte finished 0-6 from the field and 0-3 from behind the arc. He also had two rebounds and two turnovers in 21 minutes of action.

Andy did a little of everything going 2-6 from the field and 2-5 from deep. He also chipped in three boards, two assists, and a steal in 16 minutes of action.

Other things that stuck out to me were Teague's ability to control the game and find the open man. He finished with 12 points, 7 assists, and five boards. He only turned it over once as well.

Erik Murphy out of Florida fouled out in only 18 minutes of play, with a 10 foul limit. He was just too slow on defense and resorted to reaching at the ball as it went by. He was also 3-9 from the field, but 0-6 from deep. Based on today I just didn't see him as a pro but, it is early.
 
DNich is getting the start for the Bucks, hopefully he uses it better than Donte did today.
 
Onuaku had a solid game going 3-4 from the field and 1-3 from the line for 7 points. He also had 11 rebounds (4 on the offensive side) which was one more than the Morris brothers combined. AO played more minutes than any other player coming off the Suns bench. If he keeps doing what he does best there is no reason he can't land a contract coming out of the summer.
 
Today's schedule:
Clippers(Flynn) vs D-League Select at 4:30
Bobcats(Triche) vs Mavericks at 6
Cavilers(Dion) vs Grizzlies(Greene) at 8
Pelicans vs Bucks(DNich) at 8:30
 
Brandon had a solid first half for the Bobcats scoring 3 points and dealing out a single assist. He has playing PG all game and looks in control. He has also been playing solid D tonight.

I thought he looked solid as well. Started off a little slow but once he got adjusted he played pretty decent. Pat Ewing Jr is just plain turrrrble(Sir Charles voice).

I understand that his father was a great player, but for the life of me I can't figure out how he keeps getting a chance. He brings nothing to the court... Plus theres the fact that he went to Georgetown too.

Wow, it's hard to imagine Dion having problems finishing inside. He was always slicing, dicing and twisting his way to the tin. The veterans likely don't take it quite as seriously as those younger newbies trying to impress so as to get an opportunity in the league.

I wouldn't worry about Dion's shooting percentage too much. Last summer Dion shot 12-40 from the field and 1-6 from three. My guess is he just isn't completely in it mentally since he has nothing to prove here.

I'm guessing he'll pick it up the second game. Dion is a stud, who's game is tailor made for the NBA. He'll demonstrate that the rest of summer league--no doubt in my mind.
