So the NBA front office basically told Milwaukee you aren’t going to be allowed to do this deal because multiple teams complained.

Ilyasova lost 7 million dollars because somebody leaked this story too earlier. I would be pissed if I were him.

How do the Knicks fit Russ and Hayward?

Hopefully the season goes as planned. Young players like we have will be easier to go along and do what their told. We need to tank for next season and maybe the following season then we will be cooking.

First, I can't imagine being able to do it, but yeah, I believe it would have to be sign and trade with Boston.

At this point I'm just throwing stuff against the wall. I do think Gordon may come to the Knicks and Russ is the most inefficient player ever... but we have been bad for so long... I would enjoy this team. At least Russ would play his a$$ off.

I get it. I really do. But unless we are getting Emoni Bates in 2022, I'm not sold on literally anyone else in the 2021 and 2022 classes right now as a super star (Yes, I know there will prob be others, but Emoni is the only one I'm sold on right now).

Point being, we have been so bad for so long outside of some blips, that I just want to be relatively competitive.

Can you even imagine him trying to coach a team like that? U might have missed it on this thread but I never wanted Tom Thibodeau. If anything when Doc Rivers became available I was hoping we would fire Thibodeau and hire Doc.

Why would Doc sign up to coach a team trying to tank?
Plus Doc Rivers most successful seasons in Boston where when Thibodeau was his lead assistant. 2008-2010. 1 title and 1 game 7 lost in the Finals.

Serge Ibaka just put out a message thanking Toronto Raptors fans and the organization, but that he needs to make a business decision at this point. It seems like he will be on his way. It will be interesting to see if he takes the full MLE from somebody to go for another ring, or if he goes for the money in a longer term deal with some team with more cap space. I think Toronto would be happy to make him a large one year deal offer, and keep some flexibility for the 2020/21 offseason.

He was a true professional. He also had many varied interests outside of the sport and is a very well rounded and well spoken person.

I wish that I could only be half the man that he was.

When you have cap space you can absorb contracts.
The Knicks probably gave a conditional second round pick that only vests if its 55-60 like teams do complete these trades.

The Knicks last night acquired the rights from some Euro draftee from 2008 who will never play in the league. That is probably what they trade.

You guys keeping FVV there doesn’t seem to be much of a market for him.

The two biggest possibilities outside of the Raptors appeared to be the Knicks and the Pistons. I think the Knicks want a bigger name with that cap space. Pistons are still possible -- even if they drafted a point at #7, FVV will still give them an opportunity to ease in Hayes and FVV can play 1/2 despite his size.

But it does seem that the Raptors will be largely bidding against themselves, so would like the deal to come in around 18-19 M and not much more. The one potential weakness of Masai is that does not typically get players to sign bargain contracts and overpays a bit if anything.

Yeah it begs the question -- does playing with guys like Curry (and Durant) make Klay's output higher because opposing teams have to guard multiple elite offensive players and can't double him as much, or does it make Klay's output lower because he doesn't get the ball as much as he would if he played for like the Knicks.

Don’t forget that Klay always got the tougher defensive assignments as well.

Love his toughness and his stroke is the prettiest I think I’ve seen. Hope he recovers well and quickly.
