NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

They don't want you to hear how much swearing happens on NBA courts.

Cant they just “silence” it out like they normally try to do anyway? I guess with no crowd noise ever drowning it out, that would just be too hard?

Bummer. This feel is off to the point where it’s distracting. Hopefully I’ll get used to it.

Is that ref freaking serious.
No bleeping way.
You get 1 shot.
In that scenario.
You don’t get 2.

Refs messed this up.

That was super weak but Giannis at the line, the result was never in doubt. Really can’t believe they called that though.

I was a little confused; I think it's one and the ball if the "foul" occurs before the ball is inbounded, but they called the foul was after the inbound pass occured but before anyone touched it, so the clock didn't start. I think.

The Knicks looked pretty good for a half! Barrett looked pretty solid the whole game. Lucky for me, I have been a Knicks fan for a while, so I made sure to bet Indy 2H -7...

Tatum’s going to have an all-time celtics season. Not the best, but he looks very very good

They called the foul before the ball was touched on the in-bounds.
So that should have been 1 shot and the ball.

The foul in itself was pathetic if you saw it.

Luckily the game didn’t go to OT so the refs call wasn’t impactful.

I scanned a little of the Knicks game. They played hard but Indiana is just better.

Tatum had a good second half but he was meh in the first half.

Thompson and Teague were huge.
Thompson actually gives them some physicality and rebounding. They have been a soft team in the middle.
Teague gives them a pro till Kemba comes back.
Then the bench gets legit scoring depth.

I believe the rule is based on the inbound pass being thrown, not touched. So it was correct to make it 2 shots. But it was confusing, and Brian Anderson and CWebb were, to the surprise of everyone, I'm sure, no help

I did see the play, watching live I thought it was for sure a foul, but when I saw the replay, I agree. Really not much there. I guess we can look forward to the last 2 minute report!

I took a flier on him for the MVP this year. My theory is that Boston or Brooklyn will be the 1 seed in the East and therefore, he and Durant should have a good shot at the MVP if it plays out that way.

Brown seemed like the real star of the game for the C's IMO (and maybe in the game overall, though I was very happy with the way Jrue and Middleton played).

It's kinda nuts because you see actual fouls on those end of game lobs all the time but they never get called. This one actually looked clean and they did call it for some reason.

That Kings-Nuggets game was one of the crazier endings I’ve seen. Brutal job by the refs too.

why is denver trying to score up two with 12 seconds left and the shot clock off? pull the ball out, get fouled, game over.

..and..and..if you ARE going to try and score..dont go up with that weak sauce.

Brown’s improvement over the years has been great, but Tatum’s always been a case of waiting for him to physically and mentally develop. The enormous talent’s there. As he gets older he’ll only get better. I still think Brooklyn or Mil win the east

Jazz 120 points. Held Dame scoreless in the 1st half. 47 points from the bench. 50 three pointers attempted. Seven guys in double figures including Favors with 10/7 in 16 minutes. That's what they missed last year on the 2nd unit.

Yeah, the bench of Jingling Joe, Clarkson, and Favors, with whatever additional minutes they pull from Harrison/Niang and maybe Oni, Morgan and Hughes (down the road), is going to be a real strength. That could matter a lot this season since things could get weird.

Plus the Ingles/Favors pick and roll kills. Having Clarkson that can create a shot whenever he wants and that pick and roll option means there's a lot of scoring sitting on the bench when they need.

hard to tell on that video but Jokic was basically getting arm-barred by Barnes as he tried to catch the inbounds pass, and then Barnes got hammered on the arm on his dunk attempt. Refs completely swallowed their whistles on both.
