NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

Charlotte over Brooklyn.
Knicks blowing out the Bucks.
Cavs blowing out the Sixers.

Funny things happen in NBA road games.

Must explain why the Clippers...nope, nevermind. They were at home.

Boston is clearly missing something this season. Maybe a Gordon Hayward type player? Who knew.
The feeling is they will use the trade exception on a player to help.
They want Orlando to get cheap about paying the luxury tax and can get Aaron Gordon with the trade exception.
Orlando has started 3-0 though.

Blake Griffin? He has to be on his way out of Detroit.

I think his contract is bigger than the trade exception.

Yeah they can’t get Griffin unless they have $30-40 million of players they want to trade for him, which I can’t imagine they do.

Yeah the players Boston are targeting I have read are Vucevic, Aaron Gordon or Otto Porter.
Porter seems like an actual possibility. The other two I would imagine Orlando would want more than just draft picks for but maybe I’m mistaken.

probably more likely you end up just using a portion of the exception rather than the whole thing. Maybe someone like Rudy Gay, Trevor Ariza, Nemanja Bjelica, or Richaun Holmes or something.

It is crazy to me the transformation Blake Griffin has made as a player. From the above of the rim lob city guy to the 3 point bombing, great passing guy he is now; what a different player. He made 8-16 3's in his last game! He made 14 3's total in his first 3 seasons. He's a really good, well rounded player now.

I think he's in the category with Grant Hill of guys that were really awesome but injuries robbed fans of a lot of time with them.

Roy is a slot below that, but he was another one. I don't know if Oden would have ever gotten there.

This sucks. He was really a difference maker for the Nets depth.

Hard to make the Harden trade without Dinwiddie.

I don’t see why they would make the Harden trade anyway. They’ve already got 2 elite scorers. A third one who needs the ball all the time is redundant. And they’d destroy their depth to get him.

Ive said it before, but the only teams who should want him are the bad/marginal ones who are trying to elevate into at least a playoff team.
