NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

Pistons resting Rose / Griffin -- if they plan on sitting them enough, I have them as the favourite for the most lottery balls.

Tonight they are starting both Hayes / Bey... with Plumlee and Grant being the veterans.

He seemed to be mature during his period during the Lakers which I thought was the most important thing for him, even if he did not play. I thought that would have been enough to get him another opportunity. But seems a lot of damage was done to his rep last year with Miami,

He seems to blame league politics, but at the end of the day teams don't want to put up with drama if you are a role player. He has earned some of that label even if some can be viewed as unfair.

Atlanta may not be able to defend, but they sure have a lot of weapons.

Bringing Bogdanovic and Huerter off the bench tonight, and Gallinari is not even playing tonight.

I think NBA needs to go to 65 Games or so. It’s ridiculous how many players are sitting these days. Obviously, the money will go down etc but it’s getting borderline insane

Jazz at OKC tonight. The scene of the 1st postponement. Reviewing the events of March 11th of the Rudy Gobert positive test and what transpired afterwards. Which I heard will be made into a 30/30 documentary

It doesn't matter how many games they play. It's viewed as a competitive advantage for players to take breaks and not play every game on the schedule. The number of games doesn't matter.

that makes it even more pathetic
your team has 17 titles. you're like a high school senior stuffing 7th graders into lockers
And if he’s not from LA, I wonder which bandwagon he hopped on.

There is a point where this stops being true, but I think the season would have to be so much shorter and the games way more spaced out where you'd be losing so much revenue but I don't see that happening.

Like if you had a 45 game season and a max of 2 games per week or something, then each game is important enough and there would be enough rest between games where you'd see little to any load management stuff. But that's not gonna happen.

Yup.

There is a lower bound to it, but we'll never see a circumstance where we hit the lower bound.

Did any guys manage their loads in the bubble? That might be the closest experiment we see to it.

Hawks move to 3-0 with win tonight

A sign that the Bucks game went well: TNT stopped airing the game because they didn’t want to hurt Heat fans’ feelings.

I think the two televised games tonight had a combined point differential of like 80. Ridiculous. Pretty much all of the Christmas games sucked too. These completely uncompetitive games are a problem.

This sucks. He was really a difference maker for the Nets depth.

Hard to make the Harden trade without Dinwiddie.

This tweet makes no sense .. a “partial tear” of the ACL is structural damage ... it’s like saying someone partially broke a window pane but it’s intact ..

There was a lot of managing loads in the bubble . But that was mostly done by people the players snuck in.

Bucks hit 29 threes last night — league record. Giannis was the only player on the entire roster not to make one.

I haven’t ponied up for league pass yet, only because it was free for a bit and because there’s been a ton of games on either way.

But the NBATV game is the Heat-Bucks running it back? Yuck. And then the Clippers? I’m already sick of watching all these same teams, lol.

Im on the Kings, Magic, and Hawks as teams I want to watch play right now. League Pass it is!

Hawks are a fun watch so far. So are the Kings. Halliburton looks like a steal for them. Meanwhile Obi Toppin is already hurt.

Yeah, I watched the Kings some in that free league pass window. They look fun. I was on the “Lakers should pick Fox over Ball” train a few years ago, and I stand by it. Really like watching him play.

I know they’re tanking and probably will be the worst team in the West, but I kinda want to see OKC too. I like SGA, and I can’t help but be curious to see how Bazley looks as a starter this year.

1/20th of the way through the season and the Knicks are tied for 6th in the East. Let's get the playoffs started!

P.S. hope it's ok to post about the Knicks here. I can't partake in the nonsense that is the Knicks thread.
