NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

Not surprised that in the first two games that the five seed and the seven seed won. I don't think this is the year to bet chalk.
I would very confidently bet on Phoenix, Milwaukee, Boston, and Philadelphia (and Golden State if they stay healthy) to win their respective series. I think Minnesota has a chance at upsetting Memphis. Atlanta has a chance at Miami (though I'll be pretty surprised). I wouldn't touch the Dallas-Utah series.

I took Milwaukee today giving ten points but took Brooklyn +4 vs Boston. Boston is playing great but I wouldn't rule out the Nets if they are playing to their potential.

I just don’t see how Brooklyn gets stops outside of “hopefully Boston plays like crap”

I couldnt believe Brooklyn opened that series as a slight favorite. I screenshotted it as Boston +110 I think, sent it to my buddy, he got money down on Boston and then by the time I realized I should also be taking them it was Boston -110.

You gotta give Brooklyn a shot because Kd, but I agree Boston has got to be the clear favorite

I don’t think Atlanta has much of a chance anyways, but they especially don’t have a chance if Trae is going to seemingly throw the game in the first half the way they’ve done in the two play in games and today.

I’m kinda curious where the Lakers would be if they didn’t sign LeBron and had been able to keep Ingram, Russell, Randle, Ball, Hart, Nance together as their core.

Certainly wouldn’t have won a ‘chip in 2020, but probably would’ve been a playoff team the last 4 years or so. How deep could that team go? I’m thinking WCF maybe?

Eh I doubt that deep. Maybe if there was a lucky season like the year Portland made it to the WCF because the one side of the bracket was hilariously weak. Obviously don’t know how their development may have changed if they never left but I have a hard time envisioning an Ingram led team making the WCF in the past four years.

I don’t think you’d be so bold if that same team played in Sacramento.

Ingram and Russell are borderline all stars and in the playoffs? Randle was the best guy on a playoff team last year. Ball, Nance, and Hart are solid role players.

I think that’s a strong core, though I guess it would require Ingram really making the leap to what I’ve been thinking he could be(but hasn’t proven it yet), to get to the WCF.

Sac never knows how to put anything together.

COVID season aside, you could say the same about the Lakers the last 10 years.

Russell has often been someone that teams try to get rid of. Randle is currently viewed as a huge negative. Idk. I think that team would likely be a low playoff seed hoping to pull off an upset.

I fall more on this side. Ingram is good. Randle was awesome last year, but that was way out of character for him (sadly. Tell me about it!) If he was that guy on a regular basis now you're talking. Russell also strikes me as more of a good stats not sure he is actually good kinda guy. (maybe if they win a playoff series that view starts to change though)

I am more of a fair weather Celtics fan I have to admit. I knew they had been playing better in the second half, but didn't realize they had done well enough to get the second seed. Have to start paying attention now!

They’ve been probably the best or 2nd best team in the league for awhile now

Kyrie taunting the fans. Always gotta be about him. Enjoy the L. Go celtics
