NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Nets win this series. IMO, the Celts really miss Time Lord.

Reggie Miller being Reggie Miller and saying stupid things.

That was not intentional by Jones.

Toronto has had maybe 2 or 3 games all year where the top 8 rotation was fully healthy... probably not unlike many NBA teams as injuries are high.

That being said Toronto entered the playoffs with the entire team healthy. Too good to be true.
Our 2nd best in my view (Barnes), 5th best (Gary Trent), and 8th best player (Thad Young) all are now injured and out for game 2.

Not that we were favourites to win, but I thought we had a shot against Philly. Now with those injuries I am not expecting much

I'll be cheering for whomever plays Philly for the remainder of the playoffs.

Philly has been much better than Toronto, but this foul baiting BS by Embiid and Harden is not enjoyable basketball.

It’s awful and unfortunately I think they’re at least headed to the ECF.

So apparently even playoff games get local blackout on NBATV.

Helluva thing.

Watching the Utah-Dallas game, it is pretty amazing to hear the amount of later pick players that have become successful from those Villanova title teams.

Hart was a 30. Brunson and Paschall were second rounders, Arch*** was undrafted.

Fire Snyder, trade Mitchell (23/59 over these two games, get out of here), trade Conley, blow it up, go get some friggin' perimeter defenders Ainge and put a squad around Rudy.

One would think.

But not from what I can tell.
Wish I didn't watch. Never saw a team give up so many open threes. Same thing every playoffs. Jazz switch off and no one covers the wing.

Snyder has yet to come up with a scheme to counter the drive and dish. If Gobert is supposed to cover the corner then have him do so. Too many guys wide open. Time after time.

FVV and Anunoby are great perimeter defenders, although FVV is getting exposed by his sore knee right now in this series. Trent Jr is also decent defensively but close to Clarkson in mindset.

Raptors also have all future first rounders.

Put together a package for Mitchell

Done. Whatever. I'm in.

Amazing.
It just boggles my mind. I really don't know what Snyder is having these guys do. He is getting crucified tonight on social media and rightfully so. They were up seven with eight minutes to go and lose by six. What's the sense of playing predominantly man defense if you can't cover your guys? Then they switch to a 2/3 zone and Gobert is not covering the corner. If JAB was his coach tonight, he would have been sitting the pine. Jesse Edwards, on the college level, is much more effective. You have the best rim protector in the NBA and it's not working. Step away from the mirror, Quin.

Team's a mess. They don't have it. This group has run its course.
