NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

If precedent means anything the CP3 should be suspended for game 6 just like Draymond was in 2016 against the Cavs.

Guessing this is referring to the kick? I can’t remember, was he suspended for the kick or was it because the kick pushed him over the flagrant limit?
Yeah, The kick. But now that you said it you may be right that it put him over the flagrant limit.

CP (Canadian Press) - Mathisse Thybulle has been granted a special interest exemption to enter Canada effective April 27, 2022. Thybulle, a guard for the Philadelphia 76'ers of the National Basketball Association, had been unable to play two previous playoff games in Toronto due to his vaccination status. Effective January 15th of this year any foreign traveller, including athletes, were unable to enter Canada unless they were fully vaccinated or received an exemption. This exemption will allow him to play game 6 of the playoff series between the Toronto Raptors and the 76'ers in Toronto on April 28th.

In announcing this decision, Marco Mendecino, the Minister of Public Safety mentioned "When I saw this asshat airball a layup in game 5, and yet still get granted more playing time by Glenn Rivers, it was clear to me in the interests of our country that we had to let this guy play game 6"

I think it may have been. But yeah, between the wind up on his flagrant on Herb the other night and the kick last night, CP3 is doing CP3 things.

Some things never change...

It's amazing that for someone that is so good at what he does and sort of the last of the pure PG model, that he has resorted to cheap shots for so long.

To add to that -- despite being known as a dirty and chippy player he is still highly respected by his peers (president of the players association for a long time)

Really good point. Almost like he got into the Banana Boat Crew and has been given a safe haven.

Draymond was def suspended because of the flagrant foul accumulation points.

This has been a really fun playoffs so far. Can't believe the shortest series was Nets-Celtics.

I told pretty much everyone who would listen that the Celtics would win that series in 4 or 5 games. Talked my friend into a Boston, Phoenix, Milwaukee, parlay because the odds that Boston was getting was ridiculous to me. The Booker and Middleton injuries have made that parlay more of a gamble than it should have been, but I think he's in good shape.

CP had a flagrant in game 4 versus Herb Jones. The NBA went back a day later and gave Herb a flagrant when he shoved CP to the ground. I am sure the Pelicans will be sending the nut kick to the NBA today as well.

I think Pelicans win tomorrow night and lose game 7 at Phoenix

I for sure thought Boston would win and was the better team (took them series at -110) but i didnt think it would be a sweep.

And in my defense, the Nets had game 1 and were up 17 in game 2. They probably "should have" come away with a split in Boston. Though if that was the case, then I guess the series just ends in 5 anyway, so you're still right.

Obviously just feeding the trolls, but I get how sick of hearing about the 3-1 leads he must be and to his point, the Orlando one in the very least is pretty easily defensible.

There is a much better way to answer it than addressing it in detail with excuses -- making excuses about the quality of your team (than boasting about your coaching job of that team), blaming the Chris Paul injury at the beginning of a series (which makes no sense) and then blaming the bubble.

Just say different teams, different moments, we are here now and move on. The fact that he is even addressing the past in detail shows how flustered he is, and how he is a terrible leader. Embiid is flustered (passively Blaming the Coach and Harden after game 5), Harden is well Harden.

In the player interviews today even Danny Green seemed shook. And he is typically a confident guy with tons of championship experience.

The team is a mess with no accountability -- top down.
Obviously they are still more likely than not to advance against the Raptors but I can't see them having much success in round 2 ... of course I have been wrong several times before.

Could have three great games on Thursday. All three home teams (Jazz, Pelicans and Raptors) are down 3-2 and need to win to force a game seven. It should be electric in all three cities. Can they keep their seasons going?

They had reporters saying Miami probably wouldn’t even include Herro or Duncan Robinson in trade packages for Giannis, that he had agreed to a contract with Miami, etc. Everyone’s fans were obviously hoping he’d join their respective team, but Miami’s reporters were pushing it so hard and it was just really annoying to have to put up with.
The horror.

Poole, Curry, Klay is a matchup nightmare for teams because of their shooting but if they aren’t shooting well they’ll get destroyed on D. Don’t understand why Kerr is keeping the small lineup so long in this one.

Kerr getting out coached badly tonight. How many rebounds you going to let denver get?
