NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

To add to that -- despite being known as a dirty and chippy player he is still highly respected by his peers (president of the players association for a long time)
He had a lot of defenders on this board last year. I guess his antics are impossible to deny at this point.

Not enough firepower for Denver but what a talent Jokic is. Big minutes for Payton and he came through. Think he’s a better overall player to have alongside Curry and Klay but both he and Poole will have some opportunity as the 4 guards that rotate.

So these games are usually too late for me, i made it to about the end of Q1, but Jokic in 32 min (5 fouls i take it curtailed his minutes) 32-19-8. Just insane. Especially considering the lack of talent around him.

Obviously just feeding the trolls, but I get how sick of hearing about the 3-1 leads he must be and to his point, the Orlando one in the very least is pretty easily defensible.

I didn't realize all of the details; there have been 13 3-1 blown leads in NBA history (I would've guessed more I think?) and he's had 3 of them. I can see why he is tired of hearing about it, but I mean. That's pretty bad!

Also not a huge deal but he said Detroit won the title the year they blew the 3-1 lead but that isn't right. It was 2003, the Pistons got swept in the East finals. He's right it was the 1-8 series, so some credit for taking the 8 to a 3-1 lead in the first place, but also, Orlando was 42-40 that year as the 8 and Detroit was 50-32 as the one. So it's not like we're talking about necessarily a massive disparity. (Then again, Orlando started Gordon Giricek, Jacque Vaughn, and Andrew DeClercq in every game that series so maybe Doc was on to something...)

There is just not reason to talk about it. He could have punted. The iPhone, Twitter nor Facebook were even out yet at that time, that's how long ago it is. Who cares?

He should just be thankful he got the one chip and can live off of that forever like the rest of that team (I know Ray was on the 2013 Heat).

It won't matter what his excuses are or if won in 2008, if he loses a 3-0 lead, he's toast.

Khris Middleton officially out for the series against Boston and potentially the conference finals if Milwaukee advances too.

I love him, personally. Not the foul hunting, but the personality…..he’s hilarious IMO.
He is, but his on the court stuff is extremely absurd. Dude is on the ground so much. It’s wild

Phoenix- N.O. was just a great series. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Much respect to the Pelicans. My guy Ingram had a great series. Paul had an all time performance tonight. Man, I don’t love his antics and a lot of players seem to hate him….but just as a basketball fan, I want a guy that is THAT great to get a chip. Really, just so stupid basketball fans can’t knock him for “no rInGzzz”. He’s one of the elite of the elite PGs to ever play.
