NBA Thread 2022-23 Season

Embiid is probably the closest.
Good one.

I was thinking of Grant Hill as a guy who overcame being hurt for like 4 years in a row….but he’d already been a reliable stud for 6 years before that one issue that lasted forever…..and he was merely a solid role player once he finally got healthy.

Yeah, he just wasn't the same.

I used to argue with a friend that always called him a bust because of the injuries. I didn't think that was fair. He was really good before his knees fell apart. And then I'd feel gross for defending a Duke guy.

Pretty sure it was a broken ankle that was misdiagnosed in Detroit that ended up causing long term damage.

Yeah, he was legit a top 5-10 player in the league for a few years.

Can’t remember exactly but he might’ve played on it in the playoffs, his last year in Detroit?

I thought he was one of those guys that just missed the micro fracture knee surgery advances?

Be the first, and possibly only, to own a pair of AR1s…

He better be resigning with the Lakers if they’re putting that out in Laker colorways, lol.

He ain’t selling any pairs of those otherwise, but could probably move quite a few of them to Lakers fans right now.

I think Hill transcends being a Duke guy, like Mutombo transcends being a Georgetown guy.

Grant Hill and Elton Brand - that’s my list of Duke guys I like.

But what is even more amazing about the Grant Hill thing is at the end of his career when he was with Phoenix he suddenly became an iron man. From 2009-11, when he was 36-38 years old, he missed 3 games total in 3 seasons!
