NCAA tournament Expansion is imminent

A live look-in at NCAA headquarters…

Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.

If the networks and streamers have any money left after the NFL renegotiates all of their deals this year.

So this year that would have meant Auburn, Oklahoma, Tulsa, New Mexico, Wake, Cal, Nevada and Dayton ( just looked top 8 NIT seeds) would have been in. Oddly enough actually a decent group of teams which means the last 8 next year will be an embarrassment of who gets in. Hopefully they look more at conference reg season winners vs just treating it as 8 more at larges…. Which I know better than to believe.

Any Syracuse fan that roots for UConn needs to have their head examined.
What I meant to say was root for Arizona and UConn to knock out the Big 10 and then for Arizona to win by 40 in the title game.

I gagged when I wrote it, just for the record.😂

No Big 10. No UConn. Just desserts.

If you keep out teams with below .500 conference records this isn't a bad idea.

I'm generally OK with teams below .500 getting in... in a 68 team format.
They tend to have some redeeming factors, with holes.

If teams 69-76 just end up being more P4/P5 schools below .500 with more holes and less positives (which it will be), then yes its problem.

I'm for keeping it at 68.

I'd rather contract to the original 64. The first four is stupid.

Pretty soon we'll just lose the regular season and just have a giant single elimination tournament featuring every team in the country.

It wouldn't have been those exact 8 teams (it would have been a bit better group I believe) -- the "Crown" or whatever the name of that tournament took some P5 teams from the NIT.

My guess is the extra 8 teams would have been at least 5, probably 6 P5 schools
Auburn
Oklahoma
Indiana
Stanford
Cal

I'm perfectly content with none of those type of schools getting in as at large in any season.

Then you have the New Mexico, Tulsa, San Diego St, Dayton...

If they cap the extra 8 teams, to only being 4 "P5" schools getting at larges it would be a bit better. But I doubt they do that.

Or if they did that, they just become more P5 based in selecting the initial 68.

Yeah that was why I added the disclaimer being it was a quick pull and don’t disagree. This year the selection of those last 8 wouldn’t be as poor of a group as we have seen in the past and expect in the future.

Whatever gets us in more easily. Sadly, that is where I am right now as a fan.
