ND fans can go POUND SALT

You are certainly entitled to that opinion.
It’s all opinion. That’s what makes the debate fun. In my opinion, if people raise kids in CNY and those kids aren’t Orange first in their fandom it’s borderline child abuse. But again , there’s no right answer. Lol. I’m sure your ND kids moved here and weren’t raised here. Sheesh. I hope

I also feel the same for someone who lives in Chestnut hill and doesn’t raise their kids Eagles first.

They’ve played for the NC though.

ND is also a “cultural statement” school too though. As the commentator on the game yesterday pointed out - all the St. Bonaventure students tend to root for ND football.
They got beat by 40 points when they played for the NC.

The culture of ND football is based in the Catholic nature of the school. The school is named after Jesus's mother. You think CBA Syracuse uniforms look the way they do out of coincidence.

My grandfather rooted for ND because he was a strong proud Irish Catholic living in CNY. There are a lot of those people. So we say to him and all the others like him to themselves because they should be rooting for SU if they live here. Really

I walked right into Cuse Waterboy sticking up for some older Cuse fans who were getting chit from younger ND “fans” on my way to the bathroom.

Right as I was walking past the clown hits CW with a Joe Gatto crotch chop. I jumped in because What is that and the dude immediately runs away and his gf starts getting in our faces instead. Not surprising behavior for a clown in CNY wearing a Notre Dame jersey.

Still a joke.

He was born and raised in CNY and was Irish first and Syracuse second? Yes. These are the exact people we’re talking about. Lol. But of course you can root for whomever you choose

I disagree, the Mich State rivalry was big. So was Purdue a short drive. Their fans changed their tune when they threw rivalries away so they could be faux ACC football member.
Disagree all you want. As an ND fan, I always considered Michigan as a bigger game that Michigan State. But ND's biggest rival is Southern Cal and playing Stanford guarantees them California every Thanksgiving Saturday and ND still plays Navy to this day to fufill a promise that they made to Navy when the Navy basically kept ND open as an institution back in the war days.

Your a ND fan……I thought you were a SU fan ? 1966 , old ND fans had a dislike for the Spartans and it carried forward. The pounded Purdue and Northwestern which made it not as intense. But those absolutely were traditional rivalries.

My kids are SU first as am I. I grew up in CNY and as I said, I am an alum and season ticket holder and my two sons go to every SU game with me, including when I go to road games. But I was raised an ND fan as a kid and have stayed rooting for them even as I am an SU fan. We were all rooting for SU yesterday.

Good post. Hopefully we right the ship next week.

A couple years ago I took my son to see an ND game at ND. For some reason I knew we'd run into Mike Tirico who used to call the ND games for NBC. Sure enough on Friday we run into him on campus and we get a picture taken with him as I was wearing all my ND gear. As we were talking, I told him I was an SU alum and he laid into me about my divided loyalties. I told him to "blame my grandpa" and he smiled and said "all in good fun." Mike Tirico is a great representative for SU. Love that guy.

We’re at an impasse. Agree to disagree on the fan base of ND. Never did I say they were all jerks, I just know quite a few who are obnoxious. I was playing golf with this guy who is big ND fan and we were kicking it back and fourth , at one point he said it n astonishment “Syracuse has a fight song?” So typical of the ND fan attitude.
Prologue, Man in emergency room getting 5 iron removed from anus.

Syracuse and Notre Dame have the same number of titles in the last 34 years. THIRTY FOUR YEARS.
And in that timeframe one of their coaches killed a kid and their most famous player had a fake girlfriend

Haven’t read this thread, are we talking about the people that root for ND, Lakers, Yankees and Cowboys?

Those people are the worst.

Don’t forget the Tony Rice booster admissions scandal. We learned that ND really wasn’t holier then thou.
