Nerlens (Louisiana) Noel announcement

which means he is probably waiting until he takes all of his visits before he decides. Smart on his part.

I'm sure he already knows where he is going. I can only hope that it's Syracuse. Although 3 weeks scares me a bit becuase Fab will not have declared for the draft yet (although I am certain he will declare), and Anthony Davis is a foregone conclusion to the league.

A couple weeks ago, he said he wanted to announce around the McD AA game. I know he didn't qualify for it, but it seems that moved up his decision. McD game is March 28th, and 3-4 weeks is March 9-16, boy that will come up quick.

He hasn't gone to PC or UK yet. I'd be surprised if he already knew.

I think an interesting point is that he's a New England kid. Kentucky is totally different; the people, food, culture, etc. Wonder if that will affect his thought process.

I don't believe he's been to Kentucky yet, has he? I mean, ever? I know he's visiting this weekend, but I thought I'd read he's never been to campus. If that is indeed the case, I cannot imagine he's actually made up his mind yet, unless the giant sacks of money just arrived from Cal.

I can't imagine he will announce before the end of the tourney, assuming UK versus SU in the NC game. Then he will know what's going on at SU before he decides.

He's been to PC a lot of times over the past few years and took an unofficial last week. Was also at the West Virginia-PC game albeit for a half because he had to head to his high school game which was in Rhode Island.

This might be the only recruit if we dontget ill be pissed about, kid will be a star here and in the league and will help a ton imo in future recruiting

PC is in Rhode Island.

I get the feeling that he is getting a little tired of how crazy this process is and he'll decide sooner (maybe like 3 weeks or sooner) vs later (around national championship game/signing day). He has stated that he will use all 5 official visits but that seems like it will be difficult to sqeeze them in during a small time frame. It has to be hard to fit 5 official visits plus some unofficials in over the course of 2 months or less so he'd basically be traveling (flying) almost every weekend.

There is a reason he's visiting SU and UK first and second. He'll prob do an official to UNC and maybe a quick trip to PC but i wouldn't surprised if after that he takes a little time to himself to reflect then make his decision. He has had a ton thrown right at him (media, coaches, fans, etc) in a very short period of time and even though he does seem to like the attention to some degree I'm sure it is dragging on him and is only going to get crazier. I'm just glad we got that first visit on our terms (Uconn game, big crowd, etc) and didn't have to try to squeeze into his crazy schedule at a later less beneficial time for us.

Where is the video you are mentioning?

I cant see him coming here. Hes obviously a one and done player...therefore hes going to want to start his freshman year. If melo returns, I dont think he would start on this team or if he did start, he wouldnt see significant playing time. And theres no guarantee melo will leave until the conclusion of the season. It would be a risky move for Noel to commit here without knowing what Melo is going to do. I believe he plays it safe and choose Kentucky. Kentucky is a breeding ground for one and done players.

While I agree that Kentucky would be a safer choice for playing time, I think that SU would still be a fine choice. If Melo came back, Syracuse would be preseason top-5 and probably number 1. The exposure would be unmatched and he would be able to showcase his talents without having to be the man. Defenses could not key on him, offensively he would be much more free to show his game without the double teams.

Even if Melo stays for another year, I think you could pencil in Noel to start at the 4 from day 1.

He's starting if he comes to SU, regardless of who comes back. The only way he doesn't start at SU is if Fab comes back and Anthony Davis transfers to SU, gets a waiver to play next season, and starts at the 4.

Ok, he would start but he would have to split time with Coleman, Rak, Baye when he could just goto UK and be the "goto guy" there

My god Melo and Noel at the 5 and 4 would just be out of this world. Probably a 10% chance of that ever happening, but IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!!

I agree. I think he's coming here. I think he already made up his mind after lasts week.

Yeah, and he would have almost nobody around him. Here, there are many other big bodies to practice against, and to spell you in the event of foul trouble. I can't believe how early he is making his announcement. To me, for him to even announce when he's announcing - BEFORE he has taken other visits - means to me that he's coming here. Holy crap, I can't believe I'm even saying this.

If Noel comes here and Fab is still here, Fab starts at C and Noel is at one spot. CJ starts at the other, backed up by James. PF spot is Xmas as back up, and at center Coleman is the back up to Fab, and Baye redshirts. Two deep at each spot, just like this year.
