New Assistant: Brenden Straughn [Now confirmed]

That's not hyperbole either - at least not on paper to start the year.

One thing about Moore too- he's a strong rebounder for a guard. In 21-22 he averaged 4.8 Rebs/game.
I’ve long said I wish we could play 3 Bulldog type guards and play man to man like Nova. Getting a 4 year starting guard from Villanova would be an amazing step towards that.

Mintz-Starling-Moore would be the best guard trio in America

Pay jesse some scratch and bring it...

What do we have to do legally get jesse paid??

Play a preseason game against say... the National Team of Trinidad & Tobago in Port of Spain and Weitsman hands him a bag when they arrive on the tarmack??

Would be a lot of fun to see and would put a ton of pressure on the defense. With Jesse back that is a formidable lineup. If somehow you landed an impact forward in the portal then the only question becomes Red's transitioning from 2nd in command, in game coaching and the ability to be the bad guy when needed

Oh, that's right... Mazeltov!
Pay the man some gelt. If you know, you know.

Not to knock anyone because I truly don't know... is there enough perimeter scoring with these three? It looks like Starling and Mintz have room to improve their shot, what can Moore do? If we go with this type of line up I we need some sort of stretch 4 who can provide some spacing so there are driving lanes for the guards. Good thing is Benny can play that role based on his trajectory, but I still think we are one shooter short.

Moore is a shooter. His first three seasons he made 181 threes on 35.6% shooting. For comparison, in JG3's first three seasons, he had 209 threes on ... 35.6% shooting.

ETA: I'm didn't include Moore's senior season because he was only in 12 games.

Plus Moore does so many other things. He would be a bigger get than JJ IMHO. Hopefully he and Cole are in touch too.. Can't hurt to have Cole advocating for a former teammate to head to SU.

You could argue that a Mintz/Starling/Moore starting backcourt with Copeland and Taylor off the bench is in range of what Baylor had in their run just not quite as strong depth wise. Just bring Jesse back and find the right combo of guys to play the 4 and add extra depth.

I'm not saying it immediately makes this team a contender but that backcourt would have us getting pre season attention in the polls.
