Class of 2022 New Commit: Joey Spallina (NY: Mt Sinai) Attack

If you look at his face/body language when he’s talking about who he heard from, Casey Powell is the only name that made him light up

Yup the interview got cut off but he was starting to say he was his favorite player growing up. Im assuming he saw him in his pro career or SU highlight cause he was out of college when he was born.

Casey Powell with the recruiting pitch can’t hurt!

Buckle up -

1+1 isn't always 2 in the world of recruiting. However, if you go by the old adage of where there is smoke, its hard not to look at Lelands tweets of "its gonna be a good week" and then tonight's tweet and not think were in a good spot here. Of course now that I just said that he probably picks UNC, lol.

Kevin Maher is an SU Grad-- so he better be bringing some good news to his alma mater tomorrow lol!

Syracuse: “From the time I started playing lacrosse, my dream was to play at ‘Cuse and wear No. 22 and carry on the tradition there, which I know is a huge part of things up at Syracuse. Also, I like the staff’s experience a lot — in particular, Coach [Pat] March has been awesome with me, he went through their game film with me and mapped out what they see me doing… The campus was great, I loved the vibe around there and that lacrosse matters so much, but also that there’s good basketball and football.”

Wow. You couldn't script that if you tried. Love it.

I told myself I wasn't going to stress over a recruitment again since that last fiasco with Michael Sowers, but here we are:

I also had a good laugh about what he said about UNC. All I could think of whilst reading was Breschi sure is like a used car salesman. He sure knows how to make a good pitch to be getting these kinds of recruits but thats about all these top rated recruits are going to get-- a good pitch and dream that won't get them anywhere.

Anyway, here's to hoping for good news for our program tomorrow!

He says he liked that Loyola's stadium is separate from campus and then turns around and says he likes that UNC's stadium is in the middle of campus. Sounds like a 16 year old who doesn't know exactly what he wants. ;)

Of the answers he gave, only Loyola comes off as a "diplomatic" one, in that he is saying nice things about them but my read on it is that he's considering them less seriously than the others, which would mesh with what I've heard. In order of likelihood, I'd rank them as follows:

1. UNC
2. Maryland
3. Syracuse
4. UVA
5. Loyola

Kind of funny how this is being played up to be the lacrosse version of "The Decision."

Is it really? High profile recruits in major sports typically give interviews like the one you're referencing.
i'm actually surprised he's not making a commitment video like basketball and football recruits do.
