New Helmet Pics...

The first S they did was terrible, like someone put it on with tape. And I associate that more with decisions like Jake obviously using a near bouncing checkbook to get the last 3 letters out of the word Orangemen in the end zone.

But the S from the past couple years looked good, actually looked like it belonged on the helmet, and I think our logo rebranding has been a great accomplishment.

Having said that, if they'll be all orange, that's good too. I don't associate the S with GRob (his first year we had #'s on the helmet, which also worked out pretty well in, say, 1959). I more associate the S with Gross, and the way he made the S replace the horrific SJ.

End of the day, as long as we win football games, I really don't care what's on the helmet.

I like the S but it doesn't need to be on the helmet. I'm fine with it on there but if i were making the decision about the S on the helmet, i'd say those three words you've said countless times in bathhouses: take it off.

I don't know how much difference it makes but stressing the S and deemphasizing the U might help with townies

I know I'm in the minority, but the block S didn't bother me one bit. I've never understood why it bothered people so much, unless it's just an association with the GRob era.

To me, it's not that it looked bad & more that it's not our look. With no logo, our helmet was the only orange without a logo in college football. Like 'Bama, Penn State, ND & a few others, the helmet without logo becomes the branding. If we had to drop the "men", let's at least own the color. And I do like the block "S".

UConn opinion here: the Cuse uni/helmet from the McNabb era in Rocco's avatar above is a classic look. To me the block "S" always looked a little bit generic where as the the orange with blue/white/blue stripe was classic and uniquely identifiable to Syracuse

SU is not bringing them. There will be special uni's, but they are not of SU's doing. Both teams are wearing special uni's.

I doubt they will say NY's College Team, but I'll see if I can find out.

Yep, which means the Davis and Little helmets had numbers. I couldn't picture those for some reason. You'd think we'd all know that. Good find on that site.
