New Lampkin / Moore Podcast: Da Bigggest Chopp Up

Not impressed with Freeman and his total disregard for classes. He already has his foot out the door.
He did get a 93 on his test. I think this attitude is held by a lot of freshmen in general and even more so with student athletes. I had a class with Warrick, and I probably saw him there 3 days out of the entire semester. I am sure it is tough essentially juggling a full-time job as an athlete and taking 12+ credits at the same time.

I don't think he's looking forward to the walks to and from classes in the coming months when it starts getting cold up there but then again you can't blame him.

So the latest podcast has been pulled and is now private…. Let’s just hope it’s a simple thing and there isn’t some issue all the sudden.

Thank goodness they have video along with the audio for these so our board experts can analyze their BODY LANGUAGE!

Saw it got taken off YouTube - wouldn't be surprised if SU comms stepped in here with some of the content included.

Not many rules, but openly talking about skipping class and going to bars underage are big no-no's in the eyes of the athletic department.

Season can’t start soon enough to really have everyone locked in

Well what can we expect when they openly talked about Freemans 8 month Scholarship. I realize scholarships are generally year to year but if you watched you understand. He is here for a year and thats it, unless he is injured maybe he will get another 8 months if he wants.
Thats the main reason it was taken down.
However, grow up and go to classes why youre here maybe learn something. God forbid there is an injury and playing ball isnt in his future.
I wish the best for the young man but it seems he needs a little adversity in his life.

Let’s tone it down. If you think many of the other one and done kids are much different then you are in denial. This is far from a new sentiment. It’s been like this for a long time it’s just now with NIL it’s more out in the open that some of these kids are just paid athletes that also take some classes

Like last year?

Yeah I don’t think we have anything like what we did in terms of drama last year. Based on what we’ve heard to date I’ll chalk this one up to freshmen being freshmen. Unless there is drama others with intel aren’t sharing doesn’t seem that will be a problem.

Nothing will ever compare to last year. Nothing since Paul Harris days

Yeah, I mean we're not even halfway through the Fall Semester. Many kids are irresponsible the first time they're living on their own. Stuff like this helps the support staff "police" and support the situation.

If you ask anybody in the Athletic Department about a few players on last years team, you wouldn't hear glowing endorsements.

How many times has a player interrupted a press conference of the HC complaining (in a funny way) that the players want to be done so they can leave and party.

Give us some stories Bulldog!
I’ll just say there was some serious animosity between players about their finances. It started when they found out what Jesse was offered and didn’t end until those players left the program. I truly feel bad for red and staff for what they went though last year. People have no idea how good of a coaching job he did to win 10 games let alone 20. So glad they have the players they do on the team now. Totally different world

Can’t imagine how much worse the animosity would have been if Jesse got the $800,000 (or whatever the figure was) and stayed.

Im totally toned down. I am aware of everything you said. I was giving my opinion of why it was taken down and that the youngster came across kind of like a spoiled brat. He may or may not be, I dont even care.
I just feel these kids should have to attend class regularly while they are at a school playing ball and yes i realize this is nothing new. If I was coach they wouldnt play if they skipped most classes. Its a growing up maturity thing for me, be a responsible man. Is that unreasonable?
Im not impressed with the kids that go somewhere to play ball and just skip out on class.
I am impressed by kids like Choppa that have the ambition to do what is right and to do it well.
Thats all.

At the end of the day some kids care about the education and some get through it. It becomes a point of emphasis and always has but the kids who intend to spend a year and go pro tend to be similar to Donnie. As long as he’s a good kid and does what he has to and stays out of trouble that’s the biggest thing. Ideally he would take school and classes as seriously as we would like him too but ideally a lot of kids his age would do a lot of things they don’t as well.

The podcast came down and I’m sure it was discussed with him and hopefully one of many life lessons he will get. Other than that it’s a nothing burger.

What you said here reads way better than telling someone they need adversity in their life. Wanting him to be responsible and attend class to learn doesn't really equate with having no adversity. Maybe I misunderstood.
