Hopefully someone brings a lawsuit on this because it could have a big impact on our roster next year. Look at all of the post Spring portal kids we brought in. I think it negatively impacts schools like SU more than others. We need post Spring kids looking for a new home.

Technically there will still be grad transfers correct? At least we have that as an option.

I think we need about a dozen starter quality kids and that will be difficult if we only have January to do it.

Grad transfers, FCS kids I would assume too. Everyone is in the same boat, it is going to be insane

When the new portal dates came out I don't recall seeing anything separately for grad transfers.

EDIT: Google A.I. just told me the dates for grad transfers are the same as for everyone else. Jan 2 - 16. Only 2 exceptions are players who are participating in the national championship game and where there's a new coach hired.

Really? It doesn't seem like a guy that just earned his undergrad can be forced to work on a graduate degree at the same school.

Post spring portal hurt us as well losing Watson and Pena. We did bring OL help and Steve in it so it taketh and giveth.

It was by far a net positive for us. If we had Watson and Pena instead we would be 1-11 this year (assuming we beat Colgate).

I don't think that is correct. Isn't the portal just for undergrads?

You better act quick with a huge bag of cash. You snooze, you lose. You better know your own team and who’s coming or going. If you lose a major talent that you weren’t aware of, you’re cooked.

Depends on how fast the player wants to act. A guy doesn't have to sign by the end of the window just enter his name. Of course, it benefits him to make sure he has a home for spring practice.

Before the season I thought we were light at DE and LB. Just from a body count perspective I thought we needed one more of each in the portal. Was that a choice or could we not get anyone?

What has been even worse is that the front 7 portal guys that we did bring in have not been any good. Heck outside of Diggs the guys from last year were not any good either. We have had a lot of misses.

If we want a Top 60 D next year, IMO we need to bring in starter quality with 2 LBs and an entire front 4. That plus the decent players we do have in the front 7 should give us enough talent and depth to have a decent D.

I think that is asking a lot. Are we going to be able to bring in that many quality guys? We haven't been able to the first two years.

I am no fan of ERob but just changing the DC at best is going to make us a 120th type of D to a 90th type of D.
