That article is so weird...
That is what they call deflection...Among other interesting tidbits, there's this quote from the DA:
"It makes me very, very suspicious about how this came to be from the Syracuse Police Department" Fitzpatrick said of Roach's statement. "It makes me even more determined to make sure that I get their files to stop any further efforts by them to cover this thing up."
He just says Fox knew who he was talking about. Davis needs to stop talking. He really needs a lawyer at this point.Davis said he never identified Fine as the abuser in his conversation with Fox, and that Fox never asked for a name. Davis said he didn’t even mention Syracuse University basketball. He said he didn’t recall Fox ever saying Fine’s name, either.
So there goes the coverup theory.
Well I hope they can get past the politics to investigate the case thoroughly and properly and not turn this into a "well we better find something" type thing.Either Davis eventually goes down in flames, or the SPD and DA's office. The line seems to be drawn here.
The University conducted a 4 month investigation...in 2005. I wish someone would shed some light on why that was started...Wait, wait. Didn't I read somewhere that this was a four-month investigation? Now it was a five-minute investigation? What.
So if the SPD conducted a 5-minute phone call, and the DA's office conducted a 5-second "erase all" button push on a phone answering machine, then the university's investigation becomes the only source of info from the original time period. Can the DA or SPD force the disclosure of that investigation's remaining artifacts?
According to SU's initial statement last week, Davis came to them. The University conducted a 4 month investigation...in 2005. I wish someone would shed some light on why that was started...
Wait, wait. Didn't I read somewhere that this was a four-month investigation? Now it was a five-minute investigation? What.
She has now implicated the DA's office...this could get ugly real quick for someone...It's really something. We now have a person claiming she tried reporting a case of sexual abuse to the DA's office and was ignored. And, we have the DA stating, on record, that the PD was covering it up.

I believe the investigation in 2005 was 4 months. It was the university's investigation.Wait, wait. Didn't I read somewhere that this was a four-month investigation? Now it was a five-minute investigation? What.
It baffled me last week, and baffles me even more now, that he doesn't have a lawyer. In the OTL segment today, Schwarz said that Davis now has a victims' advocate but no mention of a lawyer.Davis needs to stop talking. He really needs a lawyer at this point.
