Here is FSU's season recap. 2nd year coach Norvell and the team thought they had Notre Dame dead to rights, which would have been a huge program building win, and they let it slip away. That spun them hard and they let it carry into the next game against a strong FCS team and that let Jacksonville hang around and win that game on a last second flukey play, which continued their spin. At which point they had to play a team, Wake Forest, who has a savvy coach and is at the top of their cycle and they went hard after them and just kept coming all game. I don't think FSU knew how good and well coached Wake is and that cost them another game. This week they will come out like a wounded lion, if they win, they will be hard to deal with the rest of the season.

I must be the pessimist of this group, I want nothing more then 3-0 and I try to talk myself into why we will go 3-0. That being said we will be underdogs in all three games, most likely by more then a touchdown in 2 of the 3. My orange colored glasses say 3-0 however I’d say 0-3. Beating Albany does nothing for what happened against Rutgers.

The idea people think Florida State is a dumpster fire and our operation is much better have blind faith.
They will out talent us.

We can beat Wake at home more likely than win at Florida State.
I think they are a dumpster fire and they are surprised they are because they are talented. Their fans are ready to throw rotten crab legs at their own staff. I think we’re scrappy and trying to claw our way to 6 wins.

That’s the dynamic I like.

Voted 1-2 with this week the win, if we lose to Liberty again this will be a long season.

I want to believe, I really do. I think the talent is there but the coaching hasn’t shown me anything that makes me believe we can win these 3 games. I went with 0-3 until the offense can show me something. If we can be liberty than I think 2-1 is possible. I don’t think we beat wake

Figure there's about 1/3 chance of winning each of the games given that we're going to be a touchdown dog in each I imagine. So give me 1-2. I'm just sad that we have reached a point with the program where we are a touchdown home dog to Liberty. Sure they are talented and have a great coach, but it's friggin' Liberty and we are Syracuse. Gross.

True, but Jimbo did them no favors. He left that OL in such shambles that it wasn't just a lack of talent, it was a lack of coaching and up-skilling. And, I think this will eventually play out at TAMU, I think Jimbo has been over-rated a bit being able to pick up in big time programs and get some runway from what existed.

FSU will still be able to turn things around again with the right coach. That state and that area has too much talent.

The ACC isn't nearly tough enough to keep them beaten down, either.
Don't think anything like that is happening at A&M. The foundation has been laid and they are going to be battling Bama for the SEC West for the forseeable future. He's stacked top 5-10 recruiting classes on top of each other and about to see the early returns in the draft next year.

I think that FSU suffers from the same cultural problem as Southern Cal, Texas, and to a lesser extent Miami. They recruit very well, but too many of the players develop a sense of complacency and unearned accomplishment (recruited to play for FSU, USC, UT, UM, being a sufficient accomplishment in itself). Collectively, those schools have tried many coaches since they were last great. Some were reputed to be "can't miss" hires. Changing the culture may be a taller order than it seems.

Given that Miami hasn't been able to re-capture the magic in all this time, will the same thing happen to FSU? Are the SEC teams getting the best players in Florida these days?

I don't know these answers, but it just seems crazy to me that Miami has been so beatable all this time.

The SEC and Clemson are stealing ALL of the states players.

There is no distinct regional recruiting battles anymore. The recruiting battles are with teams all across the nation now.

So for sure, the SEC and specifically BAMA are stealing FSU’s recruits

Wake isn’t going to be easy but they haven’t beaten anyone, FSU just lost to an FCS team before losing to Wake. I know we haven’t proven anything either but the Wake love on here is a bit premature. And ask Boeheim about premature anything

I get FSU has plenty of “talent” but given who they’ve played and how they’ve looked if they had different jerseys on I think we would all be pretty optimistic about our chances, even on the road.

I’m not calling any of our fans out because I’m guilty of the same thing but if we beat Liberty and they lose to Louisville this week we’re not going to be dogs by more than a score. If our offense even has a pulse and our run defense keeps doing what it’s doing it’s a very winnable game.

(One of those ifs is a little bigger than the other)

Agree, and when you layer in player’s NIL expectations, you may wind up with a perfect storm of discontent just when the Orange roll in.

We're going to find out what we are in the Liberty game Ohio and Albany didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Rutgers revealed how poor the offense and ST are, which is really disappointing. We'll see soon enough.

Turned out Rutgers showed us the coaches game planned poorly.

One head says: 1-2

One head says: 0-3

Not voting on what I would like but what I expect based on last year and this year so far.

I’m calling myself out in anticipation of at least finishing this 3 game stretch 2-1. We beat either FSU or WF. I don’t think we beat WF but if we lose to FSU l could see us winning it. I can’t explain that logic btw. It’s why my stocks are at huge losses most of the time.

On a side note. For being such an a-____ sometimes. When we win one more game and my post looks like a douche post. Someone can kick me in the balls. Now, virtually of course b/c of Covid. Otherwise I’d be more than happy to do it in person. But with Covid rules and all that I want to make sure we all stay safe.

I voted 1-2, said Liberty was the 1. We already got that, if we incorporate some screens and short passes to our TE, we might win all 3.

Who knows with Gilbert. He might forget we have Tucker for a half again while down in Florida. Although I think at this point there’s no way DB let’s him not call a run while being ahead.

Hate to say it, but our loss is looking better every minute, or Michigan is bad.

damn, I see that now. Maybe a mix of both. I hate Schiano but he does get guys to play. There’s no way they were going to be as bad as before. I also might have to eat my words at some point.

Rutgers choked the game away. They had every opportunity to win this.

I voted 2-1 but my head says 1-2 with losses to Wake and Clemson.

Let's win our home game vs Liberty, then kick FSU while they're down, then have the classic home fans nut punch and lose to Wake.
Man, I was real close.

Didn't anticipate the end of game FSU nut punch.

Called the Wake home fans nut punch.
