NFL Thread - 2019

Why aren't the Bengals dealing people? I am fascinated by teams that have no clue.

It's seriously incredible to see. Good luck with your 2021 3rd rd comp pick. I'm sure that will help the new regime more than a 2020 2nd.

Talib will get cut when he is healthy and likely end up with the Chiefs/Patriots/Texans.

He's staying in New York. No deal at the deadline.

Yeah just saw that. Cowboys offered a 1 and a swap of a third. Jets wanted two 1s.

Glad they passed, too steep.

Jets wanted 2020 first round pick, 2020 and 2021 second round picks.
So it was the Jalen Ramsey level compensation. Ramsey went for 2 first round picks and a 4th round pick.

The odds for the Patriots to go undefeated on my betting site are +550, to lose a game is -800.
49ers to go undefeated +2500, to lose a game -15000.

I actually think those are good odds to make a 100 bucks on the Patriots losing a game.
I don't think they are going 16-0.

Patrick Peterson is so overrated. He has been toasted by Manny Sanders numerous times in this game.
A shutdown CB doesn't give up the plays Peterson does.

half the NFL players on D are simply living off reputation and name. Lord knows the people announcing the games have no idea who is good and who isn't.

Week 12 which game is going to get flexed to primetime
Cowboys at Patriots or Packers at 49ers?
Or does NBC keep Seattle at Philadelphia in the slot?

They keep Seattle/Iggs or flex Packers @ Niners - both are better matchups.

Cowboys play Thursday so I don't think the NFL will completely stuff them by having them do SNF that week.

Cowboys/Patriots will have bigger ratings.

Is Garoppolo in hot water for hitting on Erin last night?
If Jimmy G is in hot water our country is beyond pathetic.

That is the media having to feed the beast and having content to comment on.
Unless Erin Andrews wants to bury him its a non story.

I would move Seattle at Philadelphia to 1pm, keep Dallas-New England at 4:25 and move Green Bay at San Francisco to 8pm.

That way all 3 games get national windows.
GB-SF needs to avoid going up against NE-Dallas. NE-Dallas will get the highest ratings but GB-SF is the more important matchup for playoffs.

Is flexing only between SNF & one of the 1pm/4pm time slots?

In other words, would they be able to move NE/DAL to 1pm, GB/SF to SNF and SEA/IGG to 4pm or is flex limited to swapping two games only?

This would make the most sense to me (if they're inclined to move the Bird Bowl off SNF) given the teams' travel and fan viewing.

All games after week 8 can be changed. The networks FOX/CBS can protect 1 game each to prevent them from being flexed to SNF.
Last week Houston-Oakland was originally a 1pm game it was flexed to 4:25 while Denver at Indy was originally a 4:25 game that was moved to 1pm.

The changes are 2 weeks in advance on the Monday after games. So this Monday we will find out any changes for week 11 and then following Monday will be for week 12.

I highly doubt Dallas at New England will go 1pm. NFL wants that game in a window to get maximum viewers either late afternoon or Sunday night.
NBC will have its choice of the game Fox doesn't protect Dallas-NE and GB-SF to go SNF.
It would move Seattle-Philly to Fox and Fox would likely want it at 1pm to have it as its premium early game.

Josh Gordon to Seattle.
I am surprised he got by Philadelphia.

Maybe he has to clear all AFC teams before NFC teams have a shot like in baseball ?

Nope it’s done by W/L record.
Seattle had 26th priority on the waiver wire.
So both Baltimore and Philadelphia who were looking for WRs passed.
It’s a good spot for Gordon.
The Seahawks and Saints were the only teams to put claims in.

Fox isn't giving that game up and it would be unfair to make the cowboys play the night game with a Thurs game coming up.

Yeah playing SNF on the road and then back to Dallas on Thursday ain't happening.
