NFL Thread - 2020

NFC is pretty straight forward.
AFC is a mess.
NFC.
LA-Arizona
Chicago-GB
LA wins they are in.
Arizona wins they are in.
Chicago wins they are in.
Chicago loses they need LA to beat Arizona.
LA gets in with a Chicago loss.
Chicago wins and Arizona wins only way LA is out.

GB beats Chicago they are 1 seed.
Chicago beats GB
Then NO and Seattle can be 1 seed.
Seattle would get 1 seed if NO and Gb lose.
NO would get 1 seed if GB loses and Sea wins.

If GB, NO, Sea all win then 1. GB 2. NO 3. Sea

AFC I am not going to bother.

Yeah AFC is a mess. The only thing I know is the Colts are the team that needs help.

Buffalo and Pittsburgh should play hard playing for seeding, but I could see a scenario where Pittsburgh especially gives some guys rest.

I wish he wouldn’t be coming back
Jags are the best job on the market this offseason.
You guys shouldn’t settle for anyone but a top tier candidate.
Jacksonville should avoid Urban Meyer.

Eric Bienemy gets talked about a lot but this is a job if I were him I would want.
Trevor Lawrence with the first pick.
You guys could get Travis Etienne with the Rams first round pick.

Tons of cap space and multiple picks in the second, fourth and fifth rounds.

Jacksonville will be really good in 2 years if they hire the right coach.

Marrone would have been fired by now if they weren’t trying to lose.
The Jags crowd was cheering Bears scores yesterday.

I would pass on ETN tbh. I want a defensive player with that pick. A good Safety peferably. I agree with everything else

So as stupid a pick Jordan Love was from a strategic and asset management standpoint ... it was also really bad break for the kid ... he’s going to Rot for three years on the bench when he could actually be developing in another organization

Isn't that close to the same thing that happened to Rogers behind Brett Favre?

Agreed. Taking a RB that early is not necessary when you have so many other needs.

Not to mention Robinson was pretty great this year. Taking a RB in the first is a waste in general, especially so when you already have a good and cheap one.

Totally different situation the packers were in then .. they had to protect themselves as farve was playing games with them ... claiming he was retiring .. then he wasn’t .. then he was.. then he wasn’t

Rogers has done nothing like that

Drafting a safety is like drafting a second baseman .. you draft a corner.. in case he can’t hack it .. you move him to safety ..

Draft a SS .. then move them off the position if they can’t play there at the big league level defensively

If you draft a safety .. where do they drop to if they fail ? (Out of the league )

Ah referring to the ownership I understand And agree with. My inference was decent based on info provided.

I was wrong in my fear they were going to lose the angle on Penei Sewell. No one else has less than 4 wins and the Jets can only muster three at the most, so he's still available. It was a knee-jerk after becoming conditioned by years of ineptitude from the Florham Park fumble fest.

In the end, it's the same thing: Rogers sat for a couple seasons behind the incumbent. But that's football. You don't get to pick perfect conditions for your entry into - or exit from - what's really just a business.

Not shocked at all. After violating rules twice and being mediocre it was time to cut him.

I wouldn’t take a RB in the top 10 but if there is a RB who can catch the ball well as well I would take that RB in the mid 20’s.

I think Ettiene will go first round.
RBs shouldn’t get paid for their second contract that much but I would take one in the end of the first round to ensure you get the guy you want.

Or you could be the Philadelphia Eagles who sign one QB to a mega contract and then turn around and draft another QB a few months later in the 2nd round because "we consider ourselves developers of QBs". Meanwhile they rarely ever draft LBs as they're not important according to Howie Roseman nor do they have much interest in fortifying the five people parked in front of the QB.

If the NYJ can bring in a decent HC and wisely use their draft picks it wouldn't surprise me to see them make serious strides over the next 2-3 years. Sewell and Becton could be cornerstones for many years to come. That's a good start. The OL is always the most underrated aspect of success in the NFL.

I don’t doubt he’ll go in the first. Just think it’s foolish for whoever does it and particularly for a team that has their starting RB already and also isn’t a contender where said RB is the finishing piece to put them over the top. That’s pretty much the only scenario I think it’s arguably worth taking one in the first round.

So it will be NFC East vs AFC East next year.
Only matchup locked up is
Philadelphia vs. New York.

I wouldn’t touch Etienne if I was a GM. He’s got a lot of miles on him already from being at Clemson 4 years and his YPC has gone down the past two years. RB’s should never be taken before round 3 IMO and they never should be given second contracts.

I said Jacksonville because they have 2 first round picks.
Same for a team like NY Jets.

KC took one at 32.

I think Ettiene goes first round.

Guess who’s returning to Foxborough.
We all knew that before this.
Brady was coming in the rotation.
That game should be SNF around week 11 or whatever week is TV Sweeps week.

If ABC plays a chitload to keep MNF maybe that game will be on MNF.

I pray for Patriots fans sanity of not getting trolled by its local media that Jimmy G isn’t the Pats QB so we don’t get that stupid storyline as part of Brady coming back.
