Call them out
I will never do that. I will say all current major athletic donors have discussed expectations of this hire with the university.
The hire is not done but should be imminent.
The associate AD etc… are not set in stone and things will be fluid. PD, albeit solid in his role, is not the driving force for NIL donations. That shows how there is a total lack of communication. Bball NIL is only hanging on by a thread, football NIL has a constant in JR.
New AD has work to do and if the wrong one is hired they will have an uphill battle and some making up to do.

You do realize you can reduce pretty much any entertainment to your “logic”, right?

Who wants to pay a bunch of money to watch a bunch of kids bounce a ball and try to get it through the hoop? It’s freaking boring!

Who wants to spend an entire afternoon watching a bunch of cars drive in a circle? Boring!

Who wants to pay money to watch two people on TV punch each other in the head?

Yet, basketball, racing, and boxing rake in $$$. This might come as a shock, but not everyone has the same interests.

So, nice dodge.

What's the market? Who charges who for what? Who is the customer? What are they buying?

How do eGame graduates make money? What is their job?

So bascially you need to thing of eSports as any other sport in college.
You can go pro, coach, manage, commentator, etc.
They have also start to incorporate STEM into eSports.
You can also use your degree that you get for playing video games for a college.
This year eSports are projected to have 500 million viewers and make $5.1 billion.

TLDR - just another college sports where you can do whatever you are qualified for after school.

Back to Carperelli, when do you think we hear an announcement? I think later next week after Cuse is eliminated in Charlotte

Yup, they have 50 donors that have all agreed to pony up for 1 PS5 and 2 new controllers a year.
They use computers and usually they have sponors that provide them.
I get it's easy to poke fun at but it is pretty remarkable how far video games have come.

You make money playing E-sports. You have followers (subscribers) and make money from that. Think influencers and YouTube. Everything in the E world is monetized. People watch people on line playing games. It’s crazy, but they do. At one time, some Minecraft players had huge followers. The more followers you have, the greater exposure to ads and access to data.

This is the Carperelli thread, wanted to see if there were any updates on our future Athletic Director and I all I hear about is esports. couldn’t care less about Esports.
This is only page 19. You have to be patient and wait for at least 50 more pages for real Carparelli info. The guy is a ninja.

I would think Monday or Tuesday, they aren’t announcing the same day Red is fired
The way social media publishes so much fake news, where are the renegade. Isn't there a fake Jeff Goodman account?

Was just a joke. I play video games, have a degree in micro- computer applications and the HS I teach at has esports. Or had, very small school and it’s lost its traction the last few years for a variety of reasons.

And I love this generation that likes watching other people play video games. My daughter likes watching me play and I don’t have to give her the controller very often.

I doubt she would enjoy watching you refreshing your phone or computer all day looking for the latest news from Syracusefan.com.

Not sure why some people have negative things to say about esports. It's a ton bigger than people realize.

aaaand back to Nick. So announcement probably Monday or Tuesday from what I am reading between esports notes.
I have not seen any updates from insiders telling the board to prepare for the worst so I am going to believe Nick is still the guy.
Presumably an update on Red would follow the day after or so.
