2 things: Orange is in the name - do we really need to plaster every inch of a uni in the color of the alternate with it? Are we afraid people will forget who we are? Really?!?

I bet there in another all orange uni in the works too.

1. ORANGE should be featured in every uni
2. It's not an alternate if you wear it more than 1x

Cripes, I thought yesterday's alternate uniform looked cool, but when they panned out there was zero orange to be seen, even on high def. Zero.

Agreed it doesn't have to be the primary color, but it does need to be somewhere

I really like the group of kids we have. They all seem genuinely excited about joining the program. the good thing with social media is they already are acting like they are part of the team, which is just what we need

I thought the helmets were okay and I am okay with mixing things up occasionally but yesterday was an EPIC FAILURE for a team called the Orange. We had very little Orange in the jerseys at all. The helmet can be Blue, Orange, White I could care less, but the damn uniforms need more Orange in them or just change the school name. We can wear all different uniforms as I like change BUT WEAR MORE FreakING ORANGE. We have only one official color Orange and the fact is the Blue in the uniforms could be replaced by Purple, Gold, Green, Red as Blue isn't an official color. Why don't we wear Gold uniforms if we are going to wear these Blue monstrosities then let's go all in and wear every color in the rainbow one game.

UNC has a colored named after them and they have navy blue uniforms. The Duke Blue Devils have worn all black before, same with the Texas Tech Red Raiders wearing black and grey. I'm willing to bet there is a bunch of people who thought our school colors are orange and blue, I will admit I did until recently. For a uniform we will wear a couple times a season I don't see the big deal? Who knows maybe we have a road alternate worked out that is all orange? Or maybe the school is still letting us recover for the Grob days of us wearing the all oranges where we resembled smashed pumpkins all over the field.

I said it before and I will say it again. Fully sell out to Nike. Go all the way with them. Recruits love it. The casual fan will be more excited. Times are changing get in bed with Nike and be Oregon of the East.

We don't have that type of national brand. We need anything and everything to help us out in the "arms war" of college football recruiting. If we'd have the success like these schools I would agree with you. But we should not hold back and use the Nike connection.

How is wearing blue football uniforms, or grey basketball uniforms helping the SU Orange build a national brand? Heck, how's it helping us at all? I am all for neat uniforms, but they should be in the confines of orange pants, blue shirts, and orange helmets. Screw with the stripes, letters, and numbers all you want, but keep the basic color scheme.

In fact, I thought that the Hall of Languages basketball jersey was cool. It was intricate, unique, and distinctly Syracuse, but it didn't change the general feel of the jersey so as to make it unrecognizable. Why can't we do that for football?

This is right.

So they wear all blue with orange highlights once and people lose it. Meanwhile the players and recruits love them.

It's not too late to sign.

This tweet is the rub. So, we wear this helmet last week we get a recruit, but not this week? We still have the helmet, so what's the problem?

I get that it helps in the end but: Commit to the program, not an article of clothing!

For the record they were much better than I expected. Didn't love them because we are the Orange!, but can tolerate them.

This is what gets me. Recruits and players love the look (who will actually wear it), but it's not logically orange enough for a fan base who will never wear it - and who complain about recruiting.

Winning makes the brand and in order to win you need the players. Now we have a few avenues that other colleges don't. We have a players coach the first African American heisman trophy winner and a tradition of winning (prior to this decade). But we have negatives: weather (yes I know we play in the dome but they still have to walk to class and wouldn't you rather do it in sunny Florida?), location, lack of in home talent. So using a gimmick to get a talented young student athlete to come here helps us win and get back to national relevance than I'm all for it. Once you establish that winning side back people will look your way and then we can have the uniform that doesn't change because it represents a winning tradition (ie penn state, Alabama, USC, Georgia). Players want to see the results right now not what happened 20 years ago and we don't have much to go off of recently with exception to minor bowl wins. If a flashy uniform turns the head while we win then let's do it and use it to our advantage. Plus it helps if we fill a stadium and actually cheer through out the game and upset Clemson on nationally televised game.

After thinking about this since Saturday's game, I have come to the conclusion that I do not care for the all blue uniforms - just not enough Orange for me. That said, I assume we will have many variations of the colors and I will wait to see what the future holds. The kids seem to like them and that is great. I can live with anything so long as we win - that is the only tradition that really matters. After all, our mascot is a piece of fruit.

Go Orange/Blue! (Whatever)
