At this point there just either needs to be a reconciliation or we put it to rest for a while. It’s a massive distraction and it shines a light on a divide in orange nation around the issue which helps no one.

Maybe if we can turn things around and start winning opinions will soften and a quiet reconciliation can be worked out but otherwise enough is enough. Appreciate everyone whose shared info and dasher trying to facilitate a conversation between Adam and the administration. Based on his feedback on that effort I think it’s time this fades away for a while. Etan and Eric re opening the conversation was not a bad idea if it was done with a more objective lens but that’s not how it’s been approached it seems.

Thus enough is enough for now.

I honestly don't see why this is an issue. Weitsman hasn't contributed so much money to move the needle compared to other donors, who don't seek out his publicity.

Write a check. Or don't. But stop the whiny PR campaign about it.
Give SU enough money that they won't say "no".
Or just go away.

Yup this is all aw behind the scenes pulling strings. He got his buddies devo and eton feeding the narrative knowing su won’t or can’t defend itself. He can donate anytime if he wants back in. He doesn’t. Put up or shut up. He will not put up. Bank on it.

So if he’s worth so much why doesn’t he donate. Nobody needs SU’s permission to donate to NIL. So why doesn’t he!!! He can stop doing his speaking tour trashing SU anytime he wants and just donate. Just like I can donate without asking permission. Tell me….. why doesn’t he!!!! Because he’s an attention - you know what and this is getting him more publicity.
Guy is not trashing the university. Quite the contrary. Listen to the entire hour’s podcasts

FFF both of those guys.

Seriously.

I’ve donated more this year - $44!! - than the total that Etan has EVER,
and that AW has since his BFF JAB “retired” and he took his ball and went home.

There is quite literally NOTHING stopping AW from supporting SU sports.

He can donate to any of the collectives at any time.
He can make a capital donation to a building or facility.

< crickets. >

Meanwhile, Etan made millions in the NBA directly due to his Cuse career,
and yet my 2025 financial contributions are more infinity % than the total of his lifetime donations to Cuse.

tl/dr - they can both shut the front door, and go the FFF away.
Not picking a fight here. How do anyone us not connected to the University or running an NIL know what anyone else has given?

Listen I’m not gonna be this guys cheerleader but I’d wager a years salary he has a net worth over a Billion dollars. The guy is buying and selling multi dollar properties like I buy coffee. He has a 30 million plus property in South Florida, 4 restaurants he doesn’t take income from.

8 mill a month on scrap, estimated 1.5 billion, this was awhile back highly doubt they were 500 million off their estimate.
Man the hate for this guy is next level, you would think he took your girl off your arm.
Again, these are estimates he makes up. He puts them on his website and they just cite his website. These "articles" are designed to be puff pieces that turn up highly in search results. Everything about AW is curated so you see what you want. Is it all true? Could be. But you're just blindly taking his word for it when a lot of facts simply don't add up, especially given the business he is in. It's not like he started a high margin software company that he sold. Lots of folks have splashy cars and properties who aren't worth as much money as you would think. And most of them don't brag about how much they're worth either. The folks that claim to be the richest often aren't.

I'd love for the guy to donate to a collective like everyone else. He won't. The notion that he needs some fix is BS. He can donate like the rest of us. You guys are all sucking up to a guy who won't do squat to support the athletics program. The average Joe donates more money to the collectives than AW and not a single one asks for notoriety. Those are real supporters.

Let's celebrate the few donors who stepped up BIG time to support the program this year while AW continues to complain. They're all quiet behind the scenes, happy to do it for the love of the program. I'm all for supporting folks who contribute to the program, lose sympathy for a guy who is refusing to donate when he easily could.

But honestly, why do we have to spend an hour waiting to hear 3 minutes of actual news?

Maybe my memory fails me but didn’t Weitsman snag Elijah Moore, bring him court-side fly him to the dome private and he ultimately committed to Syracuse?

He gave him a ride, yes. But no money. Griff was on him early. And Choppa’s dad grew up a huge Syracuse fan. It’s why it was disappointing things didn’t work out there. Kid really wanted to play here.

He is not a billionaire. I bet he’s not even close.

Doesn't matter. None of our business.
I don't count other people's money and I don't tell them how to spend it.
But if you want my attention, to be a fake-ass poser. Don't waste my time.

guy party’s with Celebrities on the regular and gets invites to everything including Michael Rubin’s white party not sure us discussing this is moving the needle. Again I simply want Red and Fran Brown to have every resource possible to win and win big.

I don’t understand why anything in your first sentence has anything to do with donating to NIL at SU. It’s even less relevant when he pays to party with celebrities.

Not at all.

He comes across as someone who wants to maximize the chances for his alma mater’s success, someone who wants to enhance the fan experience from that success and with the environment in the Dome, someone who understands the simple reality that in the modern era you need as much $ as you can.

Did any of you negativists watch the full interview? Doesn’t sound like it
This is exactly why people are so skeptical of his actions and intentions. He didn’t go to SU. Why isn’t he giving $2mm to Nassau CC or whatever his alma mater is (LIU) ? Because there’s no publicity in it, that’s why.

I watched the whole thing and nothing he had to say changed my mind.

Not only do rich people have big pockets, they also have big egos. Maybe Weitsman wants a building named for him. SU needs to figure it out.
After listening to the whole interview, it is clear he doesn’t want a building named after him. He said it. He doesn’t want to contribute to academic success, he doesn’t want to contribute to the school, he doesn’t want to contribute to the AD, or the football team. He wants to make the biggest splash for the smallest cost he can, and that is the hoops team. Football could take ten top tier players to equal the same potential impact of one such hoops equivalent. If he buys the next Melo or DC and the team makes a FF run, he’s getting splashed on the front page. For hoops, that’s his $2mm investment, whereas for football, that’s a $20mm-$30mm investment. His ego is fed by having the camera on him. By showing him sitting next to celebrities. It isn’t in the success of the school, it’s in the low cost of entry.

So, do it. The NIL collectives exist. They would be happy to have the money.
Meet with Red and ask how you can help.

What is it that you think he wants?

I don't understand what he wants that makes Syverud want to tell him to get lost.

Dude it’s not Severud as the primary problem, it’s the high zoot high donor alum forcing his hand. And Severud doesn’t have the unique eq ability to solve the problem with a meeting of all involved meeting of the minds.

To answer ur question think Adam wants to be involved as before, enjoy the psychological aspects of that support, to be able to give the $2,000,000/year as he wants to, to definitely direct it to where and who he wants to, and to bring in Celebs to promote his businesses/brands.

Call me crazy but does not seem like too much of an ask for his $2 million a year, combining being magnanimous with getting something out of it too.

Don’t know what you’re referring to here, I’m referring to etan Thomas with that post

No donor in the country picks the kids who play on the team. The coaches do. Just like they did this offseason, they ID guys and they get donors to buy in. A few stepped up this offseason for basketball. We even got some new big ones on the FB side during the spring portal, too.

If AW wants to give 2M for one guy, he can. He gives it to the collective (or soon enough to the program directly) and coordinates with the coaches. It’s not hard. He can promote that he’s a big donor. If he wants publicity for his businesses he can even do marketing deals with players directly now.

something doesn’t add up unless it’s all about wanting to show up with celebs and get special treatment and to flaunt the rules everyone else has to follow in the Dome. Why should one person get their own rules just because they bring a celeb?

There’s one very Silent party in all of this. If su has unjustly cut aw out why isn’t his “best friend” Jim Boeheim coming to his defense against the school that basically fired him.
It is very ironic that Boeheim who has shown to maybe say more then he needs too to the media. Has kept pretty silent here. Good for him, not a good idea to get in the middle of if I were him.

And why doesn't him donating to an NIL collective allow him to do that?

Why doesn't he start his own NIL collective, if he's forbidden from doing what he wants to do? We do have more than one of them.

Just cruising on Twitter and there seems to be a mess transpiring due to this podcast. It seems that the lallys may be receiving serious threats from “fans”.

This whole thing is ridiculous. Why doesn’t AW just go away if he is not welcome? Regardless of where anyone falls on this topic. The accounts that are attacking the folks that are sharing their own interactions with AW are being doubted and threatened by accounts just created this weekend or recently.

I don’t know any of these people involved but a lot of this seems to be hyper narcissistic behavior. Something is way off here. No way does SU turn down millions of dollars without reason.

He’s worth 1.5 billion right and that 2 million is a lot. So let’s do the math.

Let’s say the average Cuse fan is making 100K. That’s the same as that fan giving 133$.

So basically the billionaire just is in a really tough spot. I hope he can get past this hardship he’s dealing with.
