In general, is the NIL being discussed for basketballin addition to the revenue sharing under the Court settlement? Doesn’t the revenue sharing give us a huge head start over Providence, because of football? Or do we need $10M+ in addition to the revenue sharing? Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong, but it feels like a disadvantage because PC has MBB as the most-funded sport in rev share, probably. So SU needs the 4 mil in rev + 10 mil elsewhere to meet prov.

I am pretty sure P.C. didn't sign on to the 20 mill deal. Still, they don't have football so hoop and to a much lesser degree, hockey are their big sports. But we do have to make up the difference because football gets the lion's share of money from our rev share pie.

The 2 are often combined for a total number. Under the House settlement, revenue sharing is capped at $20.5 million. football typically receives 75%, men’s basketball (15%), women’s basketball (5%) and the remainder of sports (5%). Schools can adjust those percentages, but that's the model most schools follow. So, theoretically, if anyone has an advantage it would be schools that don't have football programs. But those schools have much smaller media revenue deals.
