Northeastern Postgame

Scored 91. No problem with the offense.

Seriously, it’s hard to care at this point. I spent most of the afternoon watching football.

This team has enough talent to beat some decent ACC teams. Doesn’t seem like they have the focus and energy to do that consistently through 18 games though.

Guess we’ll see. Whatevs.

I’ll say it game after game players do not respect red. They don’t play hard for him, they don’t learn from mistakes because there aren’t any consequences, and they continually play down to their competition because no one instills confidence in them.

Even if they make the tournament (which won’t happen) reds needs to go because he sucks

Happy for George. 22/6/6 and 1 TO

For a team struggling with effort level, I just don’t understand the substitution rationale by Red. He calls a nice timeout in the 1st half and the guys out on the floor start clicking to build a 14 point lead. It didn’t take that long either so no way were they tired. But then Red subs in 3 guys to kill the momentum. Reward the guys and give them a few more minutes as long as they are keeping the energy and effort up! Set an example.

Dunno whether it’s lack of respect,
but it’s definitely lack of effort.

Also lack of any cohesive strategy on either end of the floor.

When we got up by 14 in the 2nd half, they eased off what little effort had gotten them that margin,
and then proceeded to give up like 5 straight made 3’s.

How many random dudes have gone off for career highs against us now this year?

So much for “level 5” effort.

Red needs to go.

JB was the king of ride the hot hand, red is the king of drop a bucket of water on their head

'The last five minutes of every close game this year will take half an hour, as we will get fouled on every possession.

Really disappointing game and effort. Our defense was just awful.
-JJ 9 points, 3-9, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, poor d in 29 minutes. Kiyan 18 points, 0 assists, 1 to in 20 minutes with poor d. I’m not sure which one gives us a better chance to win when he’s on the court, but I’m starting to think Kiyan does.
-this was the worst game of White’s career. He was awful on both ends.
-I don’t know why Kingz drifts on some three-pointers and has good footwork on others, but something has to change in that regard. It’s pretty clear when he lets go of the ball whether he will make or miss.
-Souare is just useless. Remarkable that Red thought it was a good idea to have him and Zephyr on the court at the same time. Not surprisingly Northeastern cut into the lead.
-it felt like whenever we went on a run and were starting to play well Red made multiple substitutions.
-at least George was a bright spot. He played much better and started to show some confidence. Obviously his free throws were huge.
-at the end of the day we lost the second half and gave up 52 points to Northeastern, a team that is 4-6 and is not very good. We showed no pride on defense nor on loose balls just like the last game. Really a horrific effort. Hard to blame fans for not showing up for this one.

This team will play up or down to their level of competition all year long, with the exception of elite teams like ISU and Duke.

I doubt that level of inconsistency gets them into the NCAAT. This is looking like another lost season unless Donnie is somehow the difference maker taking this from a mediocre to good team.

The thing that really bothered me is the number of transition baskets because of laziness getting back on defense and the number of totally open 3 pointers Northeastern got with no defender within 4 feet of them. No real hustle nor urgency on defense. Our double teams where one pass found a totally open player. Occasional swarming under the basket for a rebound but with no one physically boxing out an opponent. Watching 50-50 balls but not moving one’s feet to get them. Just very disappointed in our defensive effort tonight.

The only thing Souare provides is he commits some fouls
