Not sure how to feel about this

Stats are interesting to review

On D they are top 20 but only like 30 yds better than us at around 50th
On O they are number 1 but 100 yds better than us but only 12 spots ahead of us

The biggest thing is they turn yds into pts so much better. the top teams in pts all hit more HRs and get the big play scores

Make them earn pts and they make mistakes.

What hurts us is no pass rush all year.

I heard on ACC Prime that Miami's secondary is beat up and are an issue for them, but their dline looks scary with the pass rush. Our offensive line is going to have to have the game of their lives. Fortunately we've looked better of late there, well for the most part.

Scary pass rush? Run C gap, counter trey or off tackle while the DL only focus on pass rush. Throw in a reverse to Gill for good measure.

1-2 yards of LA running into the A and B gap despite breaking 3 tackles won't do it here. he's a stud but he needs help. any other RB showing vision we haven't seen from them this year would be very welcome this week

Wake win dominating time of possession, keeping the ball out of the hands of the UM offense. No question they are really talented and will score a lot of points.

One thing this Syracuse team is good at is running long, time consuming drives. Agree with Go. If we avoid turnovers and control the clock, we have a shot.
But that’s also the reason this team fails to convert yards to points. We require stringing 4 or 5 first downs together. That won’t cut it especially if we fall behind quickly.

Any really good offense has quick strike ability. This would be a good time to bust out general zod’s theme music.

Think this is the game Perry has been waiting his entire life for, and Watson likeways. After all what have they got to lose. Those 2 have been getting better every week. Wax and Barron behind those 2 could be damaging to Miami's OL.

The problem is they are not instructed to attack gaps with stunts and twists. Erob just wants them to occupy gaps and tango with the OL. It’s maddening.

Perry looked gassed in the UConn game. We're leaning hard on the young bulls on the Dline and I'm not how much more they have left to give this season.

I like our chances against passing QB's. Scrablers is where we suffer. Agreed about earlier comments, if we limit turnovers and get a few we can win.

Disagree completely. We have not had a rushing QB gouge us yet. GTech's QB, UNLV's QB, neither did much of anything. Castelegnos with BC was benched during our game. It's the normal rushing game that kills us.

Agree about the turnovers.

Opponents big plays running the ball kill us.

We do OK against running plays but the breakdown allowing huge running plays kills us.

Disagree with your assessment on GTech and UNVL QB running games. ==> GTech QB had 2 TD's and 70 yards against us and UNLV QB had 50 and a TD. In both cases the QB accounted for about 50% of the rushing yardage. We struggle to contain secondary rushing effort and allow a lot of yards after initial contact. If we tackle better at initial point of contact we force a lot of negative yards from the opponents offence.

QBs have had no incentive to run. Why scramble when your running back will find no safety within 10 yards once past the line?

Herbstreit has been hinting at this game for weeks now . Another reason i’m surprised we didn’t get gameday. I thought he was setting it up. He mentioned it at least 3 times.

What worries me about this game is that we historically choke in big games and especially vs Miami.

our lack of a big play, take it to the house player, limits us.
Yup. We usually lay an egg in this situation. Let’s see if it’s different under Fran.

One of those TDs against GTech was a very bad missed tackle by McDonald. He was schemed right, but lost 1v1. I think Barron took his spot anyways, right?

Couldn't give less of a ---- what Hindsight prognosticates. I do have sympathy for his dog, though.

I would also add…..it’s the last meaningful game of the season for Syracuse, Miami likely still gets a playoff slot in a loss. For that reason, I would hope this staff has the mindset to throw the kitchen sink at Miami. This team should empty the gas tank, whatever eligible players we have left should find a way to contribute. Whatever plays we haven’t utilized yet should be emptied on this game.

I think it is a plot to jinx us, because he hates us. But seriously, I don’t love the matchup of their offense vs our D, not that their D is great but I think their offense is more versatile than ours so harder to contain. On the other hand, we are playing with house money and they have a CFP berth on the line, so I hope we play fun and loose, blitz a bunch for once, run a trick play or two. Let it all hang out. Not in the Broyld way, mind you

Not sure if Miami makes the playoff with the loss, but agree with everything else 100%. The bowl game will likely be an opt-out fest and we should be giving young guys a lot of time in that game
