Not what we wanted but pretty much meaningless

EVERY recruit Fran contacted watched that game. It may be the 1st time they ever watched Cuse. I'm thinking about their introduction. To think they wouldn't care, might be self absorbed, because its your team. Recruits care, because its their life.

Fran will have to explain why it doesn't matter, and hopefully they buy it. Its just a really bad taste, to wash out.

On the positive, newer offers likely didn't watch the Benny Hill show.

Many transfers just want to play. The better ones may want to be sure the team doesn't suck. That was just made a little tougher, but I do like the pieces Fran is gathering.

Didn't seem to deter our most recent o-line transfer commit.

Sorry if already asked but where was Beck for this game ?

The game averaged 1.5M viewers. Going against the NFL. More viewers than any NBA game. There are 1.5M that watched us be a joke. Not good, Jim.

Benny Hill theme.
I tell you if I’m HCFB I get rid of pornstache Stonebreaker for his lackadaisical approach to the game, and not meaning just this game.

Dude clearly doesn’t care enough. Bobbles the XP snap leading to their pick 6, doesn’t focus and pay attention to catch the punt snap in this game. Too many times shanks it when a good kick is needed, etc.

But the kicker (pun intended) and final straw to solidify this was the picture he was a part of on the bench DURING the vt debacle making light and joking about the blow out and how bad things were in game/getting killed like it’s a big joke that they were in the middle of.

Yeah you’re gone bro, along with whomever the other three dopes were in that picture. Send a message on culture Coach.

You are permitted to forget.

I just don't understand the hand wringing from folks. This is really easy to shrug off. Or at least should be. There are plenty of reasons to flush it and move on.
The problem is that people far and wide saw that mess either on national TV or through one of the many popular social media accounts that were mocking Cuse.

None of those non-Cuse fans that saw that crap knew or cared about the extenuating circumstances that lead to that pathetic performance, they only gather that Cuse sucks mightily and that’s in no way helpful to Fran’s task of changing perception.

Regardless of how good of a recruiter Fran has shown to be, if we want to land more than a few quality recruits the perception needs to change.

The question you need to ask yourself is if the high school coaches Brown has a relationship saw that game, and whether what they saw changed that relationship with him at all.

It didn't.

A bunch of very online and/or people on their coach don't matter at all.

Perception…

How would you know if it deterred any recruits? It obviously didn’t deter one but may have affected others. Not sure why you’re hell bent on telling people how they should feel. It’s not the end of the world and it’s not a nothing burger.

What is fact is it’s the last game we will see SU play for 9 months. It was a horrible showing in every aspect of the game and once again another losing season. If any fan base can move on after a losing season it’s us.

Hopefully we have better days ahead. Fran and company can certainly recruit. Let’s hope they can develop, game plan, instil discipline, and be a game day coach.

Yeah, have to disagree there.

Beginning the moment after the game, there's a new staff, new set of players, new attitude. And if kids think that, their coaches will soon set them straight.

Not sure one game with lame ducks will overshadow the awareness/goodwill of the last couple weeks.

People need to get over the malaise of the last few years.

Perception…

Hey let me ask you something, did you search to find that? Or do you normally read college content on something called totalprosports?

On Twitter, I searched Syracuse or McCord. It was everywhere. Athlon sports, etc. Fortunately didn't go viral.

Perception…

The only perception is, damn, Babers sucked and this Fran Brown dude is gathering a lot of talent to get rid of the stench. The game was pathetic and showed how bad the culture was all season but it has zero impact on anything at this point, no one cares about a pre-Christmas bowl game after about an hour of snarky social media posts after the game

NGL here - I can't understand why anyone would think this loss is an issue. New staff, turned-over roster, new national attitude, etc.

Just don't get it.

Why bother playing the game then if absolutely no one cares like you suggest. We should have turned down the invitation to the bowl then.

Sheesh. Hyperbole much?

I didn't say no one cares about playing the game.

I said losing the way we did doesn't matter in the overall scheme of things. Especially with recruits, who I am sure care much much less (if at all) than some people on this site.

To be honest the game gave Fran a chance to really see how bad the program had gotten. It also showed him the people who cared, and should stay.
I'm sure there were a few more players who will get the talk, then were on the list before.
