Notre Dame Game Thread...

We have three guys on the court at 'all times' who are good enough in JB's estimation to have the green light from 3. Brissett is a better shooter than he has so far shown. What part of that comes down to practice and training and prep and psychology? All of which are 'coaching-related?' It's not even necessary to blame JB directly. Who on the staff is responsible for working on his skills?

What does “Brissett is a better shooter than he has so far shown” mean? He’s taken a ton of shots, and missed most of them.

Battle Brissett and Howard have a green light bc someone has to shoot. Again, this isn’t complicated.

The team is limited for a bunch of reasons. This was obvious from day one. Some of that is recruiting failures, a lot of it is bad luck, some of it is just that this is a restocking year The one constant in Syracuse basketball is that even the down years end up with 20 wins and fighting for a NCAA bid. There is literally no other program in the country that can say that.

Based purely on the level of basketball I watch us play, what the hell are the other 68 teams doing out there to make us a possible tourney team?

I am so sick of giving up offensive rebounds to these stiffs.

Where's the toughness this team showed through the first 14 games? These last two, it seems like we've completely regressed with respect to team rebounding.

Long rebounds have hurt and were losing 50/50 balls at a 90%-10% clip. Chukwu also loses 3-6 boards a game that he just has knocked out of his hands.

This is one of those games where the announcers are hanging out in a sound studio, right?

I think Brissett has the stroke to become a good shooter. % wise he’s been a bad shooter so far. Preston Shumpert shot 29% from 3 as a freshman, and D. Nichols shot 24% and 25% his first two years from 3, and those are two of our best shooters ever.

And Boeheim was responsible for recruiting those bums that magically got better too!

-Zone gives you a bunch of wins by default. Too many inept teams who can’t attack it and just pass it back & forth around the perimeter.

- Most of the season we rebounded well. Lots of easy offensive rebound putbacks.

Chukwu loses a half dozen boards a game that are literally in his hands

The coaches need to do a better job of scheming him into getting rebounds and a better job of developing Sidibe’s knee health.

Brissett. Wasn't he recruited as a good shooter? I thought he also showed that in practices, the exhibitions, and the madness game that wasn't. Either way, our players don't get that green light without impressing JB in practice.

Agree with you, mostly, about our 'historic consistency.' But not that any of that has any relevance to today or the future. We are on a downward trend over the past ten years, in terms of conference performance. And JB isn't going to be here more than 4-5 more years. We're not in great shape.

There is not an ounce of energy from the fans. Dome sounds silent on TV.

Unranked team which means we have to be losing with under 10 minutes left for the fans to get loud.
