More often than not over the past 20 years, I've viewed SU basketball season as almost rescuing us from the misery of SU football since we have had so many Novembers where we are out of bowl contention and the games don't matter.

But this season, I'm almost bummed out that college hoops is starting, because it means the SU football season is winding down, and I don't want this season to end because it's been so much fun.

I wouldn't be that harsh. That is a good team we played tonight that had played a game already. Plus, they are a veteran team. Actually, I was a lot more impressed than I thought I would be. Especially in the second half.

I had to put kids to bed so I only saw that 1st half. We traded Swider for Benny, basically.

Nope. We would be better with Cole for sure. But Mintz is very good. He frees Joe up to play the 2. A more natural fit. And Edwards is here. Try watching the second half. Yep, those are gonna keep falling. Brokers waited as long as they could for top dollar but there's too much product for them to move in 48 hours.

Hopefully we can get those seats filled.

With Mintz looking like a stud and Benny putting up 15 and 12, I feel a lot better now than I did going on. Our top 4 guys could be pretty good, and there’s enough bodies that hopefully 1-2 more can be solid each night.

I know Benny is going to have a tougher time going for 15 and 12 against teams with major league size and athleticism …..but he wasn’t going for 15 and 12 on anybody last year. Even if he gives us 12 and 8, we’re in good shape.
