Greener pastures...Living in Rochester and working in Buffalo 4 days a week it's impossible to ignore the hero's welcome Ryan received despite his lack of accomplishments. What he lacks in wins he makes up for in bluster, but that has the fan base excited. Either way I could care less about St. Doug personally or his next job and not hating the guy apparently qualifies for MFC status on this board. I can't say the same about this guys detractors in this board, however. Honestly you're like a bunch of weepy teenage girls who just got dumped by your first crush. Let it go, he dumped you for greener pastures time to move on.
Statesman1 said:Same old Bills- they get handed their first 9 win season in years and complain about the offense. It's always cloudy in Buffalo-
I wish Gailey was in charge of the offense. Probably would have won 12 games.Go ahead and complain all you want- imo the head coach's first and only priority is to win, and the conservative approach got you guys to 9 of them. It's not the Super Bowl granted but it's more than buffalo has seen in a very long time. Perhaps you prefer the Gailey days?
That's harsh on the Bills. They didn't quit on their coach. He quit on them. Those 9 wins had little to do with an offense ranked in the bottom half of the league. It had more to do with a defense ranked in the top 5. Even if Marrone stayed Bills fans should be critical of that offense. The offense kept them from the playoffs.
Judging by the great Diaspora of residents out of Buffalo there are plenty of greener pastures- St. Doug is getting paid to do it too. That's plenty greener imoGreener pastures...
Haha. Ok.
Well considering he couldn't get past 6 in Buffalo I'd say that's a stretch-I wish Gailey was in charge of the offense. Probably would have won 12 games.
If Marrone had just accepted his limitations and admitted that he shouldn't be in charge of the offense, he would have really been on the right track. But he couldn't swallow his pride.
Right, passing up at least 8 mil for 4 mil and interviewing for the Jags OC job seems like a solid career move.Judging by the great Diaspora of residents out of Buffalo there are plenty of greener pastures- St. Doug is getting paid to do it too. That's plenty greener imo
That's literally the dumbest argument in this entire discussion. Comparing St. Doug to his predecessor at SU and his successor in Buffalo is entirely legitimate. We'll see how Rex does with the Bills, but based on his track record with the Jets I'm not optimistic. Can I trade in my Bills tickets for a press pass, because those post game pressers will be the most interesting part of the Bills season for the next few years. That's the way I see it too. The best way of propping a guy up is to compare him to someone that isn't very good either. They did the same thing with the constant comparisons to GRob. Suck being better than sucker is still suck.
$8 mil for $4 mil and LEAVING Buffalo seems like a square deal to meRight, passing up at least 8 mil for 4 mil and interviewing for the Jags OC job seems like a solid career move.
Ok, we get it. You think Buffalo is an awful place. Cool story.$8 mil for $4 mil and LEAVING Buffalo seems like a square deal to me

In NFL terms its Siberia- only the weather isn't as good with a bad front office to boot. Sorry if you think thats mean but its true.Ok, we get it. You think Buffalo is an awful place. Cool story.
All it takes is one good season. Buffalo isn't any worse of an area than Green Bay.In NFL terms its Siberia- only the weather isn't as good with a bad front office to boot. Sorry if you think thats mean but its true.
And once again you display your lack of understanding.Well considering he couldn't get past 6 in Buffalo I'd say that's a stretch-
Man, you really have it bad for Marrone, don't ya?$8 mil for $4 mil and LEAVING Buffalo seems like a square deal to me
Please, tell me how Chan Gailey's tenure was better than Anything St. Doug accomplished. I look forward to hearing you rationalize that debacle. And once again you display your lack of understanding.
Not really, but please continue. Tell me more about what a great franchise Buffalo is- right on par with Green Bay, Title Town USA with the coach they named the Super Bowl trophy after. Tell me more how Buffalo is just like Green Bay.Man, you really have it bad for Marrone, don't ya?
They both have NFL teams and they can both spend the same amount of Money. Not really, but please continue. That's pretty much it, isn't it?They both have NFL teams and they can both spend the same amount of Money.
Greener pastures...
Haha. Ok.
Never said Gailey's tenure was better. The defense was terrible under his watch. I said if Gailey was in charge of the offense, they would have had 12 wins. Read more slowly so you can comprehend exactly what it is you're reading. Please, tell me how Chan Gailey's tenure was better than Anything St. Doug accomplished. I look forward to hearing you rationalize that debacle.
"Greener pastures" = eating bologna sandwiches on the futon in Bill O'Brien's basement.
Classic stuff from the MFC.
Never said Buffalo was a great franchise. Why are you so emotional? Creepy. Not really, but please continue.
