now schefter says marrone getting broncos interview

Never said Buffalo was a great franchise. Why are you so emotional? Creepy.
Emotional & creepy? LOL quit trying to provoke a response like a 5 year old. Just admit defeat and go back to your dog dish.

Living in Rochester and working in Buffalo 4 days a week it's impossible to ignore the hero's welcome Ryan received despite his lack of accomplishments. What he lacks in wins he makes up for in bluster, but that has the fan base excited. Either way I could care less about St. Doug personally or his next job and not hating the guy apparently qualifies for MFC status on this board. I can't say the same about this guys detractors in this board, however. Honestly you're like a bunch of weepy teenage girls who just got dumped by your first crush. Let it go, he dumped you for greener pastures time to move on.

Haha, you're making it sound like you were forced to listen to Ryan's presser. It's quite clear that you are enamored by all things Marrone. You'll be watching the Bills this year (let me guess, you'll have no other choice, right?), and you'll be posting every time either the Bills lose, or Ryan makes a questionable decision, as if that somehow validates Marrone's worthiness as an NFL HC.

You sound like some guy who gets dumped by a girl, who starts dating some other guy, and you swear that you're happy, and don't care that she's moved on. But you stalk the new boyfriend, and pay attention to his every move.

Also, I hope you're not an alumnus of SU - saying that you "could care less" doesn't mean what I think you think it means. For someone who "could care less" about Marrone or his next job, you sure do seem to pop up quite frequently (almost obsessively) in threads which relate to Marrone, or in which his name is raised.

Great post sammy! You've got me exactly right. I especially enjoy the part where you project your character flaws as an overly emotional Bills fan onto me- a Syracuse and NYG fan. Actually I will be watching my GMen on Sunday Ticket and will probably catch an early Bills game or two in person. I like to go in Sept when the weather is nice and the Bills are not yet mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Can't see myself posting about the Bills much as this forum is supposed to be about SU sports and aside from having some fun at Zooba wearing Bill's fan's expense I'm not too interested in the Bills or their coaches- hopefully the jilted and emotionally fragile Bills fans like yourself on this board will be well on the road to recovery by then as Rex leads another campaign to mediocrity, the birthright of all Buffalo sports fans.

That's a laugh. Elway is not structuring the team management around a player that has so little miles left. Do you read what you write before you hit "post"? Elway doing that would smack of desperation, something Elway has never done. Manning is the one who will get on board or retire. There is no 39 year old QB (in March) that will be a huge factor in who gets hired as coach.
That's exactly what Elway is doing. Otherwise why fire a coach who won 12 games and was in a SB last year

Right, you don't care...
Meh. Not enough to continue this conversation- if you want to talk SU football I'm your guy if you want to continue your child like attempts at being provocative I'll take a pass. You share some similarities with the Bills you root for, you don't win very often and are simultaneously boring- not a great combination. Perhaps you should call your boy Rex for some pointers on being entertaining when talking Bills football- at least you'd be more interesting.

Harsh but true. The Bills are a historically bad franchise and 9 wins was a good season. Spare me the "quit on them" nonsense- this is a kill or be killed league where coaches are hired to be fired.

Except he wasn't fired, he quit. I don't know why some people have trouble admitting he quit. One either has a job, gets fired from a job, retires from a job, or quits a job. I guess he's just on a short term retirement.

Well, Green Bay has an NFL team...see what I did there?

In NFL terms its Siberia- only the weather isn't as good with a bad front office to boot. Sorry if you think thats mean but its true.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Why would I not complain about the offense? It was terrible!
Terrible? I would say not great would be better. They were 18th in the league and better than 2 playoff teams. The Jets by the way were 28th. The Bills scored more points than teams led by Matt Stafford, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick. With Kyle freakin Orton playing QB. What will Bills fans say next year when the Bills finish worse than 9-7?

And what will Marrone lovers/Bills haters say when they finish 10-6 or better?

they pretend that kyle orton was terrible when he was really average. allows them to simultaneously puff up marrone and ding ryan if he gets worse qb play out of manuel. orton was ok

Well since I'm neither a Marrone lover or a Bills hater I couldn't tell you. Just an impartial clearly thinking observer. Personally I wouldn't want Marrone to coach my team but the main reason he gets criticized on this forum is the butt hurt so many still feel from when he left Syracuse. Like saying you never liked your girlfriend after she dumps you. Rex is the shiny new girlfriend that says she likes you but really isn't any hotter than your ex. I really don't think Rex is an upgrade. Where Rex is an improvement is in his PR skills and bluster. That's what people are buying right now but that does nothing to improve the team on the field. I will grant you that Marrone is Bor-ing and has the personality of drywall. It would probably surprise most Bills fans that the rest of the league thinks they over achieved this year.

18th in what category? The offense was 26th in dvoa, 27th in profootballreference expected points. A significant fall from 16th and 15th in Gailey's second season where Gailey had less to work with.

If the Bills finish worse than 9-7 then I'll say "Oh no we suck again."

27th in total yards, which I think is pretty bad. I can't speak as to the breakdown of the points scored, but the Bills did have very good ST (2 TDs) and Defensive play (a couple of safeties, a TD, #1 in sacks, and top 5 in INTs), so I think it's safe to say that the D & ST played a very significant role in the team's point total.

scoring

dan carpenter made a big difference, guy was amazing. 75% from 50+. that used to be an ordinary FG% from all distances.

18th in points scored. Expected points? Not entirely sure what that is but it sounds like it could be kind of opinionated.

You must know an awful lot of people then. I don't think that's true at all.

if the bills overacheived and marrone hasn't scared teams off by opting out and badmouthing the bills, why hasn't he gotten hired?

if both those things were true, he'd have a job. the mfc can pick one of those but not both

It's much easier to score points when you have the best average starting field position in the league.
