Can we take Bryant AND a grad transfer or two?

If we can add Bryant but nobody else, isn't that the same as a 14 scholarship reduction?

If we can't add Bryant, then at least the reduction will end a year earlier than expected...

A better question would be whether or not we can take anybody else at all.

The question has been answered dozens of times.

That was before we were down to 10 scholarship players for next year. Does the appeal put a hold on the scholarship reduction penalties before the appeal process is finished, or are we screwed?

Yes, but the circumstances have now changed. Before, we were at 11--which meant that we didn't qualify for the penalties to begin in 2015-2016. With McCullough leaving, we're at 10, which means that we WOULD qualify to have the penalties kick in next year.

I'm not suggesting that we can't bring Bryant or anybody else in at this point, just that being down to 10 now makes things murkier. The language is about previously executed scholarships [i.e,. LOIs]. Our only shot now would seem to be whether the appeal temporarily suspends / defers the sanctions, enabling us to bring on one or more players.

CMc just screwed the program big time. By getting down to 10 ships the penalty cannot be deferred. At least that's how it sounds. That means we can't add Bryant. Couldn't CMc have waited until after Bryant's announcement next week to announce? Sounds like there was no communication at all with the coaches.

It also depends on when things kick into gear. If it starts with 15-16...well, 15-16 hasn't started yet. Maybe we've got this tiny window to work in?

One hopes that prior to having the "conversation" with Buss, the program would have accounted, vis-a-vis the NCAA, for this possible decision by CMAC.

We really can't seem to catch a break.

I definitely expected McCullough to leave after that article came out, but it would have been better for him [and the program] if he'd stayed. So why am I not surprised that he's departing?

Barely knew you, Chris... thanks for stopping by...

Paging Ron Patterson, Mr. Patterson to phone at Hancock.

Nah, I'll pass. Richardson and Howard are coming in, McCullough leaving has zero to do with Buss. Buss can go off into the sunset.

That's kinda harsh. We don't even know if his decision has any impact, and I'm guessing he didn't know either.

If we can't add Bryant because CM declared a few days before TB commits, then this whole NCAA thing is an even bigger farce.

One decision may have deprived us of two big-time recruits- McCullough and Bryant. Somebody got in McCullough's ear and convinced him he'll fbe a first round draft choice with guaranteed money. We'll see if he's right. There's always the example of Nerlens Noel.

Well if Chris didn't know, he should've. Theoretically he could've waited until after TB announced. But it sounds like Chris signed with an agent so...

Except that Noel before he went down was a dominating defensive player. Chris not much.

Honestly he is NOT going in the first round. Some agent gave him some cash to sign with him and McCollough either didn't like school or just wanted the money or something. McCollough will be a second round pick. People like Cliff Alexander from Kansas, Dakari Johnson from Kentucky would barely be first round picks and are likely second round picks and they are healthy.

McCollough is going second round. He just wants to be a pro.

I'm looking forward to tonight's lax game and the spring scrimmage on Saturday.

This program is a disaster.
This program is far from a disaster. We will be very good next year. People here don't know how good DC looks. I know his history makes it tough to count on him. I understand that. But with him at center and G and the rest, will win a lot of games.

I can't say we'll be very good next year.

That might be a stretch.

Backline D will be very questionable. Remember, you're replacing Rak with Coleman at the 5.

And pray that Joseph steps up his game on both ends.

A lot of questions. I'd say, on paper, we'll be about the same as this year.
