Honestly, you don't even have to follow all of those steps, either.

I just paste the URL for a tweet directly into the body of my post and it embeds automatically.

Nice, I never pasted anything but youtube and (new clips you support). Didn't realize it could be embedded tweets.

Worry about his kid? He is 18 years old and a kid himself!

I really don't understand having a child so young...let yourself grow up before you are supposed to help another do so.

If he didn't have a kid and an uncle pushing him he would still be at Cuse. This sounds like the plot of he got game, except he isn't Jesus shuttles worth. Maybe lala forced him to knock her up.

Yes, but the circumstances have now changed. Before, we were at 11--which meant that we didn't qualify for the penalties to begin in 2015-2016. With McCullough leaving, we're at 10, which means that we WOULD qualify to have the penalties kick in next year.

I'm not suggesting that we can't bring Bryant or anybody else in at this point, just that being down to 10 now makes things murkier. The language is about previously executed scholarships [i.e,. LOIs]. Our only shot now would seem to be whether the appeal temporarily suspends / defers the sanctions, enabling us to bring on one or more players.

I would expect that if we wanted to defer, whether we were appealing or not, we would have provided the paperwork the sanctions order requested and formally confirmed that the imposition of scholarship deductions would be deferred by a year. As well as the school as handled everything else with the communications, self-imposition (at least from my perspective) I am sure they were on top of this. In other words, they sent the signed LOIs (with date executed) and confirmed that because of those LOIs and current roster they cannot comply with sanctions and as such are deferring for a year. And if they did that, it should be a done deal. It cannot come undone because of subsequent events.

I would have expected our athletic department to be on top of that, as well. However, this is our athletic department we're talking about, so who knows.

And I'm not sure that I agree with your last sentence. Logically, I do. But I wouldn't put it past the NCAA to revisit and / or intervene in some capacity now that our roster composition has changed such that we CAN meet the requirement this year. They really came after us with those sanctions--I don't think they will be willing to give us the benefit of the doubt on ANY considerations that factor into the final disposition. And of course, that assumes that we have indeed already provided the necessary documentation to prove that we couldn't comply [before today] with the requirement in the 2015-2016 season, per your note above.

Hope it plays out in our favor. I would really hate to lose out on Bryant over a technicality.

per Waters this afternoon:

However, McCullough's departure for the NBA, along with the transfers of B.J. Johnson and Ron Patterson, means that Syracuse could actually start serving the NCAA's scholarship reduction penalty this year. That is, if Syracuse doesn't get a commitment from Bryant in the next week or so.

Apparently Mike is still under the impression we can sign TB if we can get him

Cause we can, just means we deferred

Chris doesn't owe us anything about staying. But he certainly could have had the decency to talk with the coach before announcing it publicly and possibly buying the staff enough time to get Bryant's decision/signing which may only be a few days away.

Is there a report out there that claims that is not the case? And maybe there is.

so respectfully here's my simple take mr. mike waters.

if a kid is being punished for misbehaving and is then sent to his room with no dessert for 4 days ... he doesn't get to grab another cupcake on his way upstairs .

You know more about our Athletic Department than me but I've been very impressed with the Chancellor and given his involvement have to think this is being handled correctly to the letter. Clearly a law firm has been involved and that would be a major slip up. As to my last sentence, I may be guilty of inserting too much legal background into my view of things, its just really unimaginable that they would accept a deferral and then even try and unwind it. But who knows...

Ahh, it is much easier than I thought. I didn't realize the url was all that was needed. I thought I needed to use the Embed function from twitter. Thank tomcat.

Carry on
