QB is so much more valuable than RB. Darnold will be good. He's doing fine. He was there. He's incredibly young and could have easily sat behind Eli this year.
This wasn't hard. Eli and OBJ push for McAdoo, they get McAdoo. That doesn't work out. Ownership basically mandates staying the course, so Shurmur takes the pledge, and this is where we are.
You always want to be a year too soon rather than a year too late in the NFL with *any* position and most certainly the QB position.
We are now in a hole with our only hope being that the NFC East is trash enough that we can compete with our team.
We have the wrong GM, wrong coach and no QB of the future *and* an OL that needs serious help.
The silver lining that I see is that, I believe, next year's draft is stacked for OL (not for QBs) so we can help fix the OL so Eli's injury luck doesn't run out when teams continuously crush him. Then, if we stink enough, we can get Tua in 2020.
Not sure how you feel about Herbert from Oregon, but if we stink enough this year, there will likely be a LOT of pressure to take him. But I'm fully in camp Tua in 2020.
