This came today & the video was uploaded this morning. The video must have been made before he announced that he was postponing his Tuesday PC.

In an Exclusive Video Interview with (NYCSN) NYC Sports Network, Ebenezer Ogundeko says if he is not ready to decide on his college choice by Tuesday then he will postpone his scheduled Press Conference. The highly touted star defender from Thomas Jefferson High School has received pressure from all sides, but is still undecided. His final 3 choices are Syracuse, Miami and Notre Dame. When did Miami become a player? LOL ... do these guys do any research at all?

so i just got an email saying that he officially cancelled his announcement scheduled for today.

Like I said early on, would be nice but EO is a signing day prospect.

From NYC Football 10:27 AM today

Ebenezer Ogundeko has officially postponed his College Announcement, which was planned for today. He is still up in the air between Florida, Syracuse and Notre Dame. The postponement could mean good news for Florida and bad news for Syracuse, but that remains to be seen.

Sources are saying that many in the NYC community would like to see him at Syracuse, which would make one believe that the delay might mean he is personally looking at Florida. Notre Dame might be a long shot

Just looking at the PSU commits some of them had offers from ND and UF. If some of those decommit from PSU perhaps they could benefit SUs recruiting indirectly.

@OrangeFizz who's the 5th?

@pwcommerce Told me he'll be looking more into schools such as Ariz. St, Bama, etc. Could be possibilities.

Syracuse just needs to move on, keep in contact, but fill in with the expectation that EO won't be a solid committ until signing day. Now that the ACC is finalized for next year, a major rival in PSU demise, or supposed demise, in recruiting, we need to take back what we lost in the last 10 years from Rutgers, UConn and a new rival of the area Temple. I do agree with some of the experts and disagree with some of the faithful on the importance of this years recruiting, especially if it is a small class, as this schedule this year is rediculous and the program will be highlighted on TV for much of it. Of course that could be a good thing.

One last note on EO, he says he wants to play immediately and isn't afraid of competition, so be it. He isn't starting at Florida or Notre Dame first year and as many have said, NY football is behind the S-curve in development. I always thought that was the edge we had with Ishaq, but not the case. Curious to see if he should win a starting job at ND this year or again sit out most of it and bide his time for PT.

After spring ball, Ishaq was listed as the backup at linebacker to Prince Shembo. The Prince, who is a pass rushing specialist, also has a problem staying healthy.

If my memory serves me correctly, the star system came about around 1999?

Since then we've only had (1) 5 star commitment. Ever. (Johnnie Morant 2000)

So yeah, getting guys who are PERCEIVED top talents like Jarron/Ishag/Ogundeko is a long long putt. (Thankfully star ratings are just perceptions otherwise ND would be perennial champions.)
Coaching and a strategy is equally important, perhaps more important than the individuals at their disposal. Great coaching gets the most or more from their players and gets them to play above their perceived talent.:p

I'll put my money on a group of 21 year old men with the same the height/weight vs a similar group of females. Coaching will only take you so far when you don't have the necessary talents.

Not surprised that the ND program will steal another big time player from our state. Maybe and its only a maybe we can persuade Officer to stay in-ste at Syracuse. I'm not going to hold my breath. Lets take a little count Williams Jones and Ogundeko. At least PSU is out of the equation.:(
If EO had his #1 at ND and they had a non-contingent offer to him, he would have announced his committ to ND. He doesn't have one from ND, not yet. They are already almost full, they have but 3 slots left, and they are hanging a donut on a string to EO should they not get either Tim Williams or Mathew Thomas and or they need a S and WR and very well may take 2 WR to fill the last 3 slots they have. According to Blue and Gold, they have 21 scholly's to fill this year. So, based on that, I think it is a long shot for ND to offer outright and hence the wait. Don't forget ND has already receieved recruit committs from 5 DE/LB positions this year. As for Florida, they too are filling up. They have 24-25 slots according to the Gator blog, and already have 20 committs. They have 6 committs on the DE/DT/LB positions this year, including Jordon Sherrit who just committed Saturday at DE. Again, at best another contingent offer at best to play there. Don't be surprised if EO has another school added to his top list soon. Syracuses best chance lies in AE and his other friends convincing him to play here as well as the coaching staff keeping in touch. By default, in this short list of his, Syracuse very well may be the only school of the three left with room for him late in December, unless other candidates come calling that is.

Agreed with the point, but Old Men versus Women? Better be careful with that one.....couchburn

You may have a few upsets and get to bowls now and then, but overall you can't be a contender and play with the big boys unless you have talent. And not just the starters, but deep in the bench. Injuries showed us last year how vulnerable we are when we have a few key players out. We are playing with middle of the road 3 star rated players as starters overall, while other schools in the top eschilan have 4 stars almost 2-3 deep at every position. Again, stars is just a rating, you have to perform, but they are rated by professional recruitors, so they have the skills and the build as well. Rated is just a perception, yes, and may of these kids go on to be great athlete's and good ball players, but again highly rated players come with the aspect that they are ready to play at the next level, versus others that need to be developed. We could use some of these ready to play players, stars aside.

From what I have read UF has only 21/22 open spots, but that can always change. IMHO UF and ND are both probably full at OLB and DE and this is why EO is now mentioning looking at Clemson, Ole Miss and Bama. Lot of high profile recruits are committing early this year and programs are meeting their needs and numbers early.

I'm by no means a recruiting expert, but if the part about him looking at Clemson, 'Bama and Ole Miss because ND and UF might be full is true, this to me means that he really doesn't want to come to SU. Or if he does, SU is his fall back crutch if he can not get an offer from a bigger program. This to me tells me that he has no plans on coming to SU...

If that's the case. then I hope this isn't the first thread to reach 1000 posts.

Or, it could simply mean that he wants to take an all-expenses paid trip to places down South he's never visited before, since he's planning on playing out his college career up North.

While that might work out it seems that wheel spinning and dice rolling in Vegas is about as probable.

Perhaps UF is no longer an option..

UF adds OL Jackson as commit No. 22

"The deciding factor was my family. I would rather be close so my family can see me play, rather than far away where they won't get a chance to see me," Jackson said. "It's only two hours away, so my family can come see my games if they want to. It's only a two-hour drive. It's not like it's 10 hours. So I can come home for Thanksgiving and Christmas if I want to. And there's nothing like having your family to support you during your four years of college."

What a wise child.

I had read on the Gator site that they had 24 or 25 slots, so at 22, they still maybe have 2/3 slots left, but not for EO. It is very obvious at this point that EO had contingent or fallback offers from ND and Fla and is hence trying to find another place to play, as he really doesn't want to be at Syracuse but has it as a fall back IMO, which for his talent and his wants, is a perfect fit, very much like Ishaq would have been, but you can't make these kids see that, they see the glory and the lights although they don't realize for every kid in the glory, their are 2 sitting on the bench watching.:bat: I also heard Clemson, but they have 3 DE already along with the #1 along with 4 other LB and D line committs, I can't see anything from them other than another contingent offer should Nikemdiche flip flop. Don't be surprised to see at least 2 more schools come into the mix in the next few weeks. Alabama and Arizona State come to mind.

You pretty much have it. I was told ND was the school and that is who he would have announced for if he had had that announcement. But when ND got a xfer from OSU at his position he was asked to wait and see if something opened up. So ND put him on hold and thus the indecision and confusions about his announcement. Don't know if he will still wait on ND and is just looking around so he has a back up plan or if he has moved on from ND and is really looking for a school to commit to.

This is why when he canceled that announcement on a Tuesday, I said it was good for SU because it kept us in the game since it was not to be that Tuesday.

I am hearing from terp nation they think they are in the loop and that he may be coming there for a visit. They have a huge need at DE, so who knows, Maryland may come into play as well as others.
