If the SUAD website is correct, we've currently only got 12 guys in the NFL?

http://suathletics.com/documents/2012/11/19/2012NFL.pdf?id=7162

How many of those guys were actually in the NFL for more than a cup of tea? And this is with getting much higher ranked recruits.

As they say on EDSBS, Clemson.

Any way you slice it, Clemson has nothing over SU based on history. SU also provides a better opportunity for Ogundeko to play sooner, he's closer to home and his NYC buddies are all close by. And he made some comment about not wanting to get distracted down south or something like that. Not sure that was the exact quote on the gridiron video. I'm really starting to think Cuse has a legit shot.

Seems like every year Clemson has another highly ranked recruiting class with plenty of 4 stars and a 5 star mixed in here and there, so what happens to all those great players? Does Clemson have a problem developing players who are evaluated coming out of high school as having the sought after size and speed and being ahead of the curve in their development?

Besides, even though Clemson is a beautiful place it sits in the middle of nowhere. Atlanta is a couple of hours away, but it's a drive to a spread out city which requires more driving just to have fun. The beach is a 5 hour drive. The summer and fall in Clemson is HOT. I have family in the area, and I enjoy the beauty of the area. The problem is the boredom that creeps in, and if they ever have freezing rain or a hint of snow watch out! They have no idea how to drive.

Oh for 's sake, they're pulling me in...

@NYPost_Brazille
Thomas Jefferson DE Ebenezer Ogundeko, NY's top prospect, is down to Syracuse and Clemson, he says. Gotta love the Orange here #psalfootball
It is nice to have a chance, but damn it, if he doesn't choose SU, now I will be dissapointed. Whereas just a week ago I would have expected him to choose another school.

Dead Period through January third (game is the 4th) and I'm pretty sure coaches can't attend the game itself... so they really can't do either.

You do realize that "dead period" is just filler in the NCAA handbook, right? Coaches are in contact with these recruits, in one way or another. Guaranteed.

EO knocking UF out doesn't change much for us IMO. We are running up a steep hill in the rain against Clem.

I would not be surprised if he picked SU. We are his best fit and he knows it. He is most comfortable with SU. Everything else at this point is just show.

It's just goes to show the uneducated or simple minds out there.

A one minute google yields:

NCs: 1 each.
All time record. Cuse647-444-55. Clem 686-485-49
Bowls 13-9-1 for us, 16-17them.

Last bowl played...we all now that.

This is hardly Syr vs Rutgers...

Report cards, using players that played in the NFL during the past 2-3 seasons:

QB: McNabb > Whitehurst
Syracuse

RB: CJ Spiller > Delone Carter
Clemson

WR: Mike Williams > Jacoby Ford
Syracuse

TE: Dwayne Allen > nobody
Clemson

OL: Nobody impressive on either team
Push

DE: Dwight Freeney & Chandler Jones > DaQuan Bowers & Jarvis Jenkins
Syracuse

DT: Arthur Jones > Nick Eason, Darell Scott, etc.
Syracuse

LB: Leroy Hill, Kavell Connor = Jameel McClain, Keith Bulluck
Push (maybe a slight edge to Clemson)

DB: Brian Dawkins, Chris Clemons, etc. > Steve Gregory, Tanard Jackson, Will Allen, etc.
Clemson

K/P: Olinda Mare > nobody (Chris Gardocki hasn't played in several years)
Syracuse

I have Syracuse at 5, Clemson at 3, and 2 pushes. Even giving Clemson the edge at LB rather than a push, 'Cuse is the better orange team with bigger names in recent years. Most importantly for Ogundeko is the DE spot, which Syracuse has the edge in quality, though Clemson may have the edge in quantity.

Ojinnaka has started at OL recently.

Sure they are. They can even "legally" call once a week. But there won't be any in-home visits. And they won't be attending the all-star games. Which are the tw0 things mentioned in the post I referenced.

Also, you do realize that when you use the phrase "you do realize" you come off as 50% more of a jerk than you would otherwise, right?

Really not trying to be a jerk, difficult part about the lack of context on a message board.

Recruits get contacted alot during "dead periods", whether or not in person I can't answer that. Some schools can be shadier than others.

Eh. Better than nothing i guess?
Barry Richardson (of Clemson) currently starts at T for the Rams, so nothing special from either 'Cuse or Clemson at O-Line...until Pugh makes it!!

I would think LB we have the edge and its not really that close. Bullock was a beast for a very long time.

Agreed, and McClain starts for the Ravens and has for a few years now. And Bulluck, to me, was always one of the most underrated linebackers in the league over the past decade. All he did was consistently go out and get 130 tackles per year and come up with huge plays in primetime games.
