Or it’s great that we can compete with top 20 teams. Our last 4 games, minus the hitting the wall in Vegas game 3after the halftime, shows how far we have come in year 3 of Red’s tenure. And this with Donnie injured.

Keep in mind that most of these students have never experienced a huge win like this (for basketball) -- in essence, the biggest hoop win of their college lives!

Good point. I don't even know why we cheer at all. We should "act like we've been there before." Certainly a big problem we have in Syracuse is fans showing too much excitement for the team. Gotta tamp that down. The kids like it. The players love it. But please, won't you think of what the old people think? Also... what if another fanbase sees us and thinks we're not cool??? We simply MUST worry about what other people think of us!

But it's a far cry from the way it was...when Orange fans expected to beat everyone the team played...regardless of who they were and how highly they were ranked.
Can't imagine this happening back in Big East days.

I hear you, but that stuff happened even when we were competitive. I remember rushing the court my senior year when we beat Georgetown with Demetria Nichols squad.

I said in the other thread…in 2002 when we beat Missouri we were unranked they were I think 12…we absolutely stormed the court. There were similar games in the last twenty years.

This isn’t a new argument. We just haven’t beaten a ranked team in a long time lol
