schools in the ACC and Big 12 in the order of their value to a league.
I think you will find that the ACC is in much better shape than the Big 12
Right off the bat, who in the big 12 is more valuable than UNC., Clemson,
FSU and Miami? Cetainly not the teams that just went to the bIg 12. If they
had that sort of value, the big 10 would have taken them.

Makes me wonder why BC was so valued in the ACC’s initial Big East raid…

It's kind of apples to oranges. You're comparing a conference that's been raided 5 times by the B1G/SEC. Take the top 5 ACC programs away, and then compare the ACC and Big 12.

Let's hope FSU and Clemson and the SEC aren't making googly eyes at each other right now. Losing them massively changes the equation for the ACC.

The irony is that what makes the ACC stronger now is ultimately what makes the ACC weaker long term. Having schools that are attractive as expansion candidates to the SEC and B1G while having really no ability to expand to keep up in the arms race.

I think the Big 12 unbelievably will outlive the ACC. And kudos to the Big 12 leadership after all the crap they’ve been through the past 5+ years. The Big 12 still has room to expand for football as there are teams in the Midwest and west that fit the conferences profile and offer new markets. There’s nowhere for the ACC to go now.

I moved BYU up to tier 3, but could never justify them in tier 2.

be hard for either to go anywhere with the GOR though as it is really prohibitive

I wonder if in a couple years that will matter to them, if they see themselves in a dying conference. Short term pain for long term gain. The ACC needs other schools to step up in football to raise the profile.

Does new Big12 have a GoR set up?

Could the BigTen or SEC still look westward for expansion again before ACC GoR expires?

Do you mean value to current conference or value overall, which are two different things.

In the ACC I would say that Clemson, FSU, Miami, VA Tech, UNC, GA Tech, SU, Louisville, Duke, Pitt, UVA, BC, NC State, Wake

In the B12 I would say BYU, Arizona State, UCF, Texas Tech, Okie State, WV, TCU, Kansas, Houston, Colorado, Iowa State, Cincy, Arizona, Utah, Baylor, K State

a huge issue us comings soon,,, if espn branches out to more stand alone 75% of the eyeballs included in the tv numbers go away, then how do the crazy tv revenue numbers make any sense,

no sunday play is an issue
They have said in the past that their preference is not to play on Sunday. They would if they had to, and it really isn't tough to avoid doing that in the regular season.

i answered as in overall

its like 800 million dollars

I want BB back in the Big East. And football to have a conference just not by Indy like Uconn and Umass.

The ACC sucks. They finally fix the ed up schedule that has led to ZERO visits from Miami to the Dome and it falls apart.

At that time they were good (Matty Ice, et al.); they played in the 2007 and 2008 championship games and were Atlantic Division runners-up in 2005 and 2006, but then the semi-insane AD alienated Tom O'Brien (making him leave for NC State) and fired Al Skinner and Jeff Jadgodzinski.
