Okay, let's fire

I don’t want Red gone (at least not yet) - the team is so poorly constructed - we have no PG - we have no one who gets to the rim - we have no shooting - and most of all we have no rim protection whatsoever - we need a PG next year - we need JJ back and we need Freeman back - we just don’t have the players and I’m not sure that’s Rees fault
That’s 100% Red’s fault. He’s the HEAD COACH. He put the roster together. He’s playing the players he brought in.

Well, whose fault would it be? He brought in Carlos. I never want to see pt guard play like this again. We spent the money on Eddie. Red can better. I'm not sure he thinks he needs to. That scares me.

I would have to say Reds fault

Well, when the stands are empty for the rest of the year, which they will be, and people don't renew their season tickets next year, and they won't... then the athletic department will loose millions in revenue. So the net potential lost revenue could actually justify the buy out at some point. When that point is, is the Breakage (so it is called). Now, that doesn't mean firing red tomorrow, or this year, is necessarily right move, but, those numbers need to be taken into consideration and will be integrated into the decision making process

They will be. And if they are bad enough, A change will be made.

I think someone mentioned that we may be "loose" with our millions and that is a very interesting nugget we should hear about in the future.

I know it goes a little deeper than this but just think 10k less tickets at a measly $10 per game for roughly 20 home games/season. I kept the numbers simple thats 2mill.

There is no question in my mind that there is something very wrong with the "books" at Syracuse. And that is the first thing that needs to be fixed. I think there is a good chance we will hear about this subject down the line.

Interesting. How long is down the line?

You think books are cooked or just garden variety underfunding of program by re-allocating significant athletics revenue elsewhere outside of athletics?? I have heard the rumors on administrator salaries through the roof, but who knows?

I have seen nothing, except the ability to recruit, that suggest Red can do this job the way we need it
done. Let's go about the business of firing him. My estimate, and I believe this is almost surely low, is
that Red would get at least a check for 3 1/2 million. How about Alex Kline? Did he come with just
a year deal? That would be doubtful to me. The ass'ts are almost always on 1 year deals but I don't
know that for sure. Did Dan come here without more than a 1 year deal? I don't have any idea.
Now, we have to hire a new coach. He is not going to take less than a 5 year deal. No way. No how.
We just fired an alum and a former ass't after just 2 years. To go to Syracuse, he is going to
require security. It will be very expensive and I don't know if we have the dough.
Why would Alex Kline be held responsible for this? He was just hired.

Not shocking. We did the same thing for football when Coach P was here. We were able to get away with it so long in basketball because JB was soo good for so long. Now they better fix it or the basketball program is going to end up GRob bad.

What they have to figure it is what will be more cost effective? Take the bullet and big loss with the funds now or will they lose more money letting Red continue running this program into the ground and have an empty dome like football which took decades to recover from and took a massive money investment to get it back

New coach + Same NIL budget = Same problems.

Keep Red.

Give Taylor Swift an honorary degree.

As a new alum, maybe she'll leave a blank space on the check.

Ehh ,,, From the outside, Red looks like what we were afraid of getting in Fran - a recruiter who doesn't really have in-game coaching chops.

Time to roll out the red carpet and big paycheck for Jay Wright. Seriously, the dude is a class act and we need something huge to dig us out of this show. I used to love Syracuse Basketball, obsessed now I hardly go to the dome and I don't even get bothered if I miss most games on TV. Back in the day, I'd panic if I missed one. Syracuse basketball is going to slip away and become irrelevant and there is little time left.

I cancelled my trip to NY for the Maryland game. Sorry the product on the floor doesn’t justify the cost. Will go to Holiday Bowl instead.
