Weatherspoon played tackle for a 6-6 Howard squad that averaged nearly 29 points per game last season. He was a redshirt sophomore this past season, meaning he has two years of eligibility remaining. Weatherspoon was an HBCU All-American this past season and started 11 games.

During the 2023 season, he recorded 765 offensive snaps, the majority of which (644) were at right tackle. Per PFF, he allowed just 12 pressures, eight hurries and two sacks during those snaps. He also spent 110 snaps at left tackle.

Chose Howard because it felt like home away from home…Hobbies include drawing and fishing…Admires his mom and uncles because they helped him to understand that you can’t please everybody…Favorite food is Chinese food…Three people to invite for dinner are his mom, Uncle Daryl, and Aunt Debbie…Favorite professional sports team is the Steelers…Favorite musical artist is Eminem…Reality show to be a part of is Stranger Things.

LOVE IT! Allowed only two sacks on over 700 snaps. This is a major step up in competition but I love that he's coming in with real success under his belt.
Yes I love the size and that he excelled at the level he was at. It will be a step up in competition but he'll have months going against an SEC level DL before the season starts.

So he’s committed? Under the Dino regime this would’ve been 10 pages already. Now when we get a recruit of this stature and it’s ho hum.
Well I’m celebrating. A true road grader at that size.

Wonder if the athleticism translates to RT [his main position at Howard], or if he projects to shift inside to RG.

Either way, much needed reinforcement to the OL.
Yep, nice problem to have. It will be interesting to see how he performs against our DL in the spring.
