Class of 2025 OL Ja'Elyne Matthews (NJ) Portal to FSU

I think Fran knows he can't bring in someone who will be toxic to the program and is not DART.
Questionable past can do one of two things to a young man. Lead him further down the road of mistakes and crime or it could motivate them to be the best person they can.
I'm all for second chances as long as Fran sets the correct expectations and has a zero tolerance policy

Sounds similar to that kid Brown's first recruiting class at SU that had been in really serious trouble that just came for a visit. Of course I can't remember his name but search is always a friend...Omar White.
I think Fran doesn't want excuses for a drop off in year two, schedule be damned, and doesn't like the current talent level or depth. So he is showing willingness to give talented prospects opportunities to straighten themselves out and prove themselves here while helping us maintain a high profile on 2025.

We have lost a lot of talented pieces - this is a reload and go type of recruitment season for Fran

Have to wait and see. Sometimes a visit is only a visit.

yup, we should be kicking the tires on anyone who may be able to make the team better. You can't do proper due diligence if a kid doesnt visit.
I'm sure most of these young men have their parents with them, and Fran gets to know everyone and what he expects from them, and what he will do for their son.

I would agree if it was prior to Div. 1 becoming NFL 2.0... College footfall as we knew it no longer exists. It's now money talks and nobody walks!
It's okay to have moral standards. What does that even mean? I wouldn't want that type of player on my NFL team either.

Which is very telling on where the NIL is at
How do you mean that? I am pretty sure our NIL is fine. It seems to me that
Fran is willing to take some chances on kids that we wouldn't have in the past.
You see that in the pros all the time. Teams are reluctant to gamble on kids that
were hurt but not guys that have troubled pasts. Everyone thinks they can
"change them" or get the best out of them. I've never really understood that.

Gotta trust Fran here. He wouldn’t open the door if he didn’t think the kid had acknowledged his mistakes and was looking to remake himself. I’m sure Fran would have this kid on a strict plan that included heavy involvement in community service programs. Fran won’t think twice about dropping him if he falls out of line and doesn’t buy in to the team dynamics. That message will be front and center on his visit, no doubt.
