In a tweet to Ohraki

"Through this losing stretch weve had all Ive come to learn is #huskynation is smaller then i thought #fakeassfans @aoriakhi34"

Watching this program slowly collapse is a joy.

Can someone retweet this to Noel just in case he was still giving UConn any real consideration.

amazing what winning (and, conversely - losing) can do to team chemistry and fanbase loyalty.

Another reason to be a fan of Syracuse basketball and JAB.

36 consecutive winning seasons coaching at the Cuse. 19 seasons with 25 or more wins. Only eight seasons with more than 10 losses. His best season record twice he had 30-5 and three times 26-4. This season 26-1 and should win his 9th BE regular season title.

I do not envy Mike Hopkins if he is up next.

If I was a UCONN fan I would tweet back

"Through this losing stretch all I've realized is that Tyler Olander is a shitty use of a scholarship"

kid has 19 points in the last 5 games, maybe he should go to the gym and work on his game instead of running his bleeping mouth

god I hate athletes like that, if you don't like fan reaction then do something to change it

If I was a UCONN fan i'd be pissed

Olander knows he's next to be run out of town for the next big recruit, so he's getting a jump start. ;)

What a tool...that program is a complete disaster.

Why not? The team is 90% recruits he's responsible for already and he's a known commodity. He'll be stepping into a great situation (that he helped create) that a long list of other coaches would do any number of unthinkable things to have a chance at.

Well they did just win their 3rd Nat'l Championship.

Yea I hear ya. It still is a disaster. No tourney next year, coach out, players will probably all bolt if they dont play in the NCAA's next season...a team left behind in the Big East (although they probably join us in the ACC eventually).

Well it took JB a long time to get his monkey off his back and people probably won't want to wait 25 years for Hop to win a NC. Hop's bar is already set and it's pretty darn high.

By the time they are, they'll look like BC.

Truth. Will be interesting times when if finally does happen.

Collapse is an understatement IMO.

- Drummond may not be ready to leave, but he probably will since there is no point to stay
- They dont have a good recruiting class coming in IIRC
- NCAA ruling is killing their team & ruining their recruiting even further
- They could go from NCAA champs to NIT
- Calhoun starting to appear like he is about to retire
- SU & Pitt leaving + the catastrophe that is the future of the Big East Conference

... all happening at the same time. They are going to be the Detroit of basketball programs unless they pull off a miracle.

They have 1 recruit coming in, a top 40 overall player who is a SG
THe postseason ban would allow players like Ohraki to transfer without having to sit a year, so in addition to Lamb and Drummond leaving, a few players could transfer

As long as people walk this Earth good people like myself will spread the word of how wortheless that championship was. Absolute worst game of college basketball ever played.

Big 10 teams were sitting at home laughing at how inept those two teams were on offense. Grown ass men were actually trying to find local Division III women's basketball games to watch to free themselves from the indignity of watching that abomination. Children around the world cried tears of disgust and will now turn to volleyball instead of basketball as young adults. (You'll see the effect from that in 10 or 15 years - mark my words.) Millions of men who casually follow college basketball will never return to watch another game after seeing that game, and if they would have, their wives/significant others won't let them after watching that clusterfluck of a game.

It was embarrassing, and people need to be reminded of what happened that night so when people say "oh, Calhoun has 3 championships" at least they know that one of them should actually take away from the other two and he should be officially credited with just one.

That's how awful that game was.

No doubt the game was awful and they had a fairly easy road. But this was almost the same Butler team (granted no Hayward) that beat us the year before.

They got some breaks no doubt though.

This after beating a team 51-50 after going 1-29 outside the paint. Those in glass houses...

LOL. The best part about this, is I can tell you truly believe this and believe Syracuse is a better program.

No hes saying uconn is in big trouble which they are and going forward cuse is in a lot better shape and thats the truth

The truth?

UConn is Calhoun. Syracuse is Boeheim.

It comes down to the next Head Coach. You guys (I believe) have a HC in waiting in Hopkins and we appear to be grooming Kevin Ollie.

It stands to reason that Syracuse may have more financial stability with the ACC's TV money, but UConn is building a new practice facility right now that's well on it's way to being fully financed so I don't see money being a huge issue for hoops (football more so).

I think more of the issue was the postseason ban and how that will effect recruiting. Ollie has like 2 years of bench experience and is an awful interview. There's several UConn fans I know that don't want him to take over for Calhoun.

It's a one year ban - that could still be overturned.

We have one recruit for 2012-2013, Omar Calhoun 4 star, and he's said he's still on board.

It was going to be a small class anyways and could very well be a 1 kid class, pending departures by Lamb and Drummond.

Point is, nobody knows how Ollie will be if he's the head coach. Likewise, nobody knows how Hopkins will be. You will have a bigger TV contract, but christ, some of you guys act as if we're coming off 10 straight losing seasons and getting a death penalty for a 5 year post season ban while being demoted to the Patriot League.
