Orange Out on Friday vs Louisville

Orange outs are the dumbest thing of all time.

What else would you be wearing? And why do you need a gimmick to put the orange on?

Never quite understood it, but then again, the majority of the time I'm in some sort of awe of what surrounds me :)

Axe said something along the lines of Orange Jerseys

Interesting...

Uniforms and NYC, in no particular order, the two things that weaken this board the most. And I just went ahead and mentioned both in one post.

At this point I'd even rather read about how we need to fire the staff because we lost to #8 Notre Dame by 2 TDs.

5o shades of grey. The Syracuse Greys. Gandolph the Greyhound as mascot. Gray cement Dome , grey winter for 8 months. Mostly gray-haired fans.

It really has taken a lot of the enjoyment out of the board for me. Even the sides I agree with on those issues, I'm sick of seeing the same posts over and over again.

if they really want this to happen how about emailing the season ticket holders ahead of time.. i know they think a well timed email around 6:30 will remind people but...

Would be sweet to see some all orange uni's with a navy helmet. Would be even sweeter to see people chill on the uni conversation for awhile.

Poor decisions by SU and Nike have stirred the uniform pot.

If they were nice and classy, like they were at one time, no one would be talking.

Lots of opinion listed as fact. Whatever.

Still hoping for Orange Uni. Guess old people gonna hate no matter what ;).

Disgruntled "old people" are the ones who stop buying tickets, giving donations, etc. Those are the things that get AD's canned and greatly impact the forward momentum of programs.

I know it's silly to think uniforms would cause this, but a continued lack of understanding of the importance of maintaining some tradition can be pretty costly. People will only put up with so much before they find a better way to spend their money.

If you want to look at a program that seems to "get it", take a look at the SU Men's Soccer team. Great use of social media, responded to fan's requests to make uniforms available, working hard to get students to show up at games, and as a result they are generating record attendance. I know the games are free, but getting students to go on a Saturday night shows they are doing something right. Right after the games, they are sending out updates to thank all the fans who came out. I'd bet that any recruits they had last weekend when they beat the #2 team in the country probably left impressed.

Soccer? The sport with the most preposterous off sides rule possible. Stupid socialist sport.

So here is my question about this go around of the "Orange Out" Syracuse is doing. What are you doing to help the cause, SU?

Brent Axe ‏@BrentAxeMedia 5m5 minutes ago
Are you providing t-shirts, pom-poms or towels? Is your team actually going to, you know, wear Orange? Or is this just a clever viral thing?

Brent Axe ‏@BrentAxeMedia 3m3 minutes ago
You can't just declare an "Orange Out" and put the onus on the fans to meet your request. What are you doing to help the cause?

My unsolicited advice to @Cuse. If you are wearing Orange Uniforms Friday, tell people. Don't be coy about it. Build the hype, don't hide it

These uniforms are awful and have no tie whatsoever to the traditional SU football color scheme of Orange-Blue-White. They are nothing but Nike's attempt to divorce us from our history! I can't stand them...

Axe makes a great point, although they did the pom-poms at the last game and it was lame. Should be towels or t-shirts. Also, Giansante's comments about not knowing when an Orange jersey will be available are dumb. No need to try and play coy- it's not something that needs to be a surprise.

how about something traditional FOR A CHANGE.if they wear the traditional unis, they will get a standing o from the crowd
