Miss you buddy.

Being the same age, whenever I met Dan at tailgates we talked and talked about old guy stuff. Felt like I knew him all my life. He was like that which is why he was well-liked.
RIP Orangeyes.

I've never been really confident about my X's and O's knowledge, but I had finally gotten the courage to make my first couple posts a few years ago. Orangeyes sent me a private message saying he enjoyed my thoughts and I should post more. That, along with one from RF, really boosted my confidence and here I am 2600 posts later- much to some people's chagrin I'm sure :)

Thank you guys for your kind words. He personally cared about many of you on this post and board. If he didn't know you, he would get to know you. If you never met, he was brothers with you through Syracuse University sports. He lives on in all of us. Whether it's through his grandchildren's sports accomplishments, my mother's strength or having Tyus Battle commit a year and a day after his passing. He's in here. War damn Orangeyes.

Condolences on the one year anniversary of the loss of your dad.

Grew up with Brian and Kelly but didn't meet Dan until much later. He was a great man and obviously a great parent.
Regardless of the Syracuse sports affiliation I hope that have 1/100th of the impact on others that he had.

Let us look past games, recruiting battles and our fanhood to celebrate a truly great individual.

I didn't know him well, but he welcomed me like he knew me for years. I chatted with him at three tailgates and he had great stories & drew me into being more of a fan. It seems to me that he placed a priority on fans working & playing together, and lived a good example of his ideal. I'm pleased to play golf and celebrate his life in early august, and then sit in 302 for football due in part to his welcoming way. He was easy for me to like and I honor his memory. War Damn Orangeyes!

He didn't know me, I didn't know him. However, one time we happened to be involved in a PM concerning some post that was made. By the time we were done discussing it, he had invited me to attend a BB game with him so he could show me "around".
All we had in common was our passion for Syracuse. It was all he needed. I regret I never had the opportunity to take him up on his offer and to meet him. RIP Dan, thanks for thinking about me
