Oshae with the shanks

Stat of the year:
OB shot 79% from the line last year. After tonight’s brickfest he’s currently shooting 65%. Yikes.

Team shot 74% last year compared to 68% this year.

It’s the same guys on the floor. Very perplexing.
Failure to continue working on the skills.

He has missed 7 straight. 65% will continue to drop

Traded Moyer for Hughes and added Buddy, if anything the free throw shooting should have improved some.

OB seemed so clutch last year. No explanation as to why he’s so bad now

Oshae is a player who has been way over rated on this board. He has a skill set that would never allow him to start on an SU team in prior years. But JB has no other options for various reasons. Our opponents dare him to shoot and have stopped fouling him when he drives. They just challenge him. Game, set and match. He compounds the issue by not getting dirty on the backboard.

They should foul him every time

Needs to learn how to finish with his off hand under the basket. It’s the reason he gets blocked so much. Drives left, shoots right. Fundamental very poor.

It's bizarre. He really does have a nice skill set. It's amazing he seems so far away from putting it together consistently. The free throws...my god.
His issue is his calculated slow release on shots. he holds the ball waaaaay to long and it negates anything good he does. its a big issue because its in him..Its the poison.

Its simple. He cant hit the broad side of a barn. Love his grit and hustle but he is a poor shooter.

Maybe he’ll leave early for Europe.

Can Guerrier unseat him if he’s back?

We don't need him to leave. Your second question is more on point.

OB would be much bigger asset if he wasn't a heavy usage, heavy minutes guy. He's not consistent enough to be. If we have reasonable alternatives (QG), play him when he's engaged play the other guy when he's not.
The biggest gripe I've always had with JB is that he has never been a fan of developing multiple alternatives at the same time, unless his primary is simply woefully inadequate. As inconsistent as OB has been this year you would think Braswell would have gotten some run here and there. Similarly as bad as Frank has been at PG you'd think Carey would have been force fed more minutes.

Braswell would just sit out on the 3 pt line. Not exactly what we need.

I’m fine with Ohsht leaving. He thinks he’s Scotty Pippen and wants to dominate the ball. He’s actually more of a liability than Frank. Can’t shoot can’t handle.

Would be spectacular if he worked around the basket and tried to become a force rebounding. No reason he couldn’t average 10 boards per. But that’s not in his dna.

Teams are begging him to take midrange and 3pt jump shots. They know he can’t make them. He seems only capable of succeeding when in a favorable matchup, either a guard or slower footed big on him. Anybody that can D him up, shits him down easily and Oshae simply makes things worse with forcing up bad jumpers or dribbling into trouble.

Kid needs a summer of focusing on his skills and becoming a basketball player, inst as of a guy with varying level of skills.
